Yeah it's fine, unless your schools are better than mine. I'm in a northmead capa but i tbh i don't have any art talent, and the teacher here just don't really care abt the academy. I'm sooo nervous abt the edutest this year bc the ai predicts that there will be approximately 300-450 kids applying for baulko for year 9 entry ONLY
Also, there is a guy in my current tutoring and he's in girra rn. He's literally just getting 95%+ for every subject and he's stressing me out bc he also tried for ruse and baulko last year and he failed😱
300 is impossible it would be more like 80-100

i tried out and got into baulko y11 entry last yr (second biggest intake i think (y9 entry being the biggest intake)).

i got 4 sups, but ik someone who got in with 1 sup (in writing (which they REALLY WANT (THEY REALLY WANT KIDS WHO ARE GOOD AT CREATIVE WRITING))).

most kids got in with 3 sups, but tbh it shouldnt be too bad (last yr, out of all the edutest skls, baulko was the hardest to get in for y11 entry somehow (one of my friends got into nsb but rejected from baulko with 2 sups)).

but i think that once they organise kids from bottom to top by edutest results, they only look at supplementary information. the teacher that goes through applications is not the principal, but ur interview is with the principal, so idk how the information passes through there.

for reports, ig they expect mostly As, but if u get 1 or 2 Bs u should be fine tbh, as long as u do well on edutest.

their main differentiating factor on the edutest is the english, as baulko knows kids are alr good at math, and want to improve english by a lot to boost up rankings (im guessing rankings slipped cuz of the tail end of the grade in english).

baulko has a lot of high achievers, but the tail end is what is dragging the rankings down.

i wouldnt recommend using the edutest practice papers as they do NOT reflect the actual edutest. ts website is mega niche (bigbrain.au), but basically they got buncha edutest questions to help kids in vic get into selective skls (vic uses edutest too), so pick one of the vic selective skls (suzanne corry, macrob, nossal, melb high).
  1. click "take my free diagnostic"
  2. click for students
  3. choose current year level
  4. in the second dropdown, click selective
  5. choose one of those vic skls
  6. sign up or wtv
good luck!

can i ask for what subjects did u get superiors? Bc some of my friends said that verbal and numerical reasoning are more important bc they are kinda testing your ability (but not knowledge).

the thing bout verbal and numerical being more important is bs. the selective skls js want high functioning academic kids, and tbh they dont rly care abt ability and would rather look at knowledge but that could vary skl to skl. i got sups in everything except reading which i got high avg

Also, will they look at your previous skl and decide whether to get you in or not if you are at the borderline of the admission. I'm currently in a local high school and I got a c for HSIE last year(which is the only c that I got) and my math and science are all As, but my English is always B.
