I got 98.45- reasonably happy considering the lack of work I did post UMAT (ie August).
Congratulations to everyone on their UAIs so far- especially flamearrows and yook!
Duckofdoom you actually don't start specialising straight after internship because each specialty college has a long waiting list for training positions. The vast majority of doctors still have to do an extra 2-3 (or even more) years of residency (ie as RMOs and SRMOs) before they are accepted...
Yeh I think what you have is fine, just add:
* ability to digitally remove structures such as ribs in CAT
* ability to visualise vessels and soft tissue much more clearly in CAT
I thought the exam was OK- you can never really tell how you did because there were a few calculation-type questions (which you can never be too sure about) and a fair few extended response questions.
And the MCQs were gay.
righto Kyroth, what about if Maria and Nick were both unaffected (Maria not being a carrier? Wouldn't that be a 0% chance of Jack (or whatever his name was) being colour blind?
There were too many scenarios for 2 marks so I reckon it was a damn mistake:
Nick unaffected x Maria carrier
Nick unaffected x Maria unaffected
Nick affected x Maria carrier
Nick affected x Marier unaffected
There was no information about whether or not Nick was colour blind or not and the...
RED GREEN COLOUR BLINDNESS QUESTION WAS CRAP!! There was not enough information in the question to be able to answer appropriately:
The father Nick could have been affected or unaffected (NO INFO AT ALL)
The mother Maria could have been a carrier or unaffected
That's way to many different...
Maths is over WOOT WOOT! I guess I'm happy that the 3u wasn't a whore like the 4u. But I still think some of the questions were a bit contrived- know I made some stupid errors in the probability.
+ I agree, question 7 diagram was fcuckin stupid.
THANK GOD MATHS IS OVER (for HSC at least!)
I really want to burn all my 3/4U notes but I'll probably end up doing BMedSci at USyd next year so have to keep the notes as maths is part of 1st year (DAMN!!)
