98+UAI, 173 UMAT...any hope for unsw offer? (1 Viewer)

Hey...I'm international and was wondering if there's any hope of me getting into unsw with a UAI of 98+ and UMAT scaled of 173?

All responses r very much appreciated.

No hope without an interview, and there's no way to know how you went. This is a thread I should really close, but I'll be nice and let others have their say.

but again depends on ure interview.. ... i know they have rejected locals with scores like those.. but their interview wasnt great

sorry to dissapoint you mate but i got 173 in umat too and a predicted UAI of 98 and I wasn't even offered an interview

erm...I got 173 scaled and a predicted TER of 99...which is probably why i got interviewed.

But i dun think I'll get 99...so i'm trying to access my chances of getting in with a TER of 98+.

My phone interview wasn't hot...felt dry. The interviewer was polite, that's about all.

I'd still prefer Oz coz its cheaper...btw, a friend back home didn't do the umat n got a conditional offer from unsw telling him he needed a scaled of 135. He didn't bother to sit as he had already accepted a monash place. Just recently, unsw gave him an UNCONDITIONAL offer!

I hear ireland is not very challenging to get into.

i bet getting in Trinity College Dublin is much more difficult than UNSW,and even more difficult if you are considering medical.

According to my brother who is a graduate from the Royal College of Surgeons Dublin and who still works in Dublin, the situation there is even more dire than it is in Australia. Many of the Irish are absolutely frustrated at the extreme competitiveness involved in getting into Medicine.

na, im a local girl, my uai is 98.2, how much do they lower the second round interveiws by?

I thought second round interviews are usually given to 99ers who's schools didnt predict them high enough. So not sure if they "drop" exactly.

They do. Its on medstudentsonline and a document written by unsw.

I've already had my interview so does anyone think there is any chance of being offered a place (UAI 98.45 and UMAT 170)?
