Reneranger, unless you want to do trading or hardcore quant (which u probs need to go overseas and get 1st class honours to get a job) I would highly suggest against doing actuarial or maths heavy majors.

The wam cutoff for U of Tokyo was 60 for s2 2013 and s1 2014 but was 75 for s2 2014. However I think it's because they have language requirements otherwise it sounds a bit low to me
I was able to transfer with a wam of 78.5
From my research it usually hovers around 77-79 so if you get 80 ur pretty set. IMO I think it will stay about consistent for the foreseeable future as a lot of able students do actuarial now which means there's less competition for those law places...
I did my hsc in 2013 anticipating that I'd get an atar of at least 94, with the intention of doing unsw commerce and hopefully transfer into comm/law after 1 year
However things didn't turn out quite the way I liked and I ended up getting 90.5 atar, missing out on the commerce degree I thought...
If u go to unsw and applied an internal transfer, then I'm pretty sure you're in- usyd might take into consideration your atar so I'd say u have a higher chance at unsw than at usyd.
