    x (cos^1) x question

hmmm, this is an interesting one. i can't give you a deadset method that you can learn whenever anything like this comes up. all i can give you is some logical thought. the first thing to note is the domain of the function. x.cos(^-1)x it has to be -1<x<1. inverse cos does not exist outside...

    Some general questions

    1. 1/256 = 2^-8 2. I think what 3unitz means is that the expression you gave, Tn = 24 x (-1/2)^n-1 , is in the from ar^(n-1) which is the form of a geometric sequence so it must be geometric. This is all true, but it sounds as though you knew that already. I don't know if this is really...

    Simple Harmonic Motion Questions

its been a while since i've done these but this is what i think for 2. it says to assume that the motion of the tide is simple harmonic. in other words, a graph of the height of the tide versus time would look like a sine wave. now for part a.) you just have to remember the definitions. what is...

    Inverse Trig Q.

sure, this is a bit of a trick question i guess... do you remember that inverse functions cancel each other out? so if you take the inverse sine of something then take the sine of it, its like you done nothing to it. therefore, y = sin(sin inverse x) = x so dy/dx = 1

Preparing for Q1-3 in Music 2

How do people do this? The way I usually do it is just become really familiar with the concepts and just try analysing any excerpts of music that you find in terms of the concepts. What other things do people do? Score-reading and melodic dictation are hard to practise too, any ideas...

    Birthday Letters SOS Thread!

fair enough, but in terms of picking additional material, am i right in suggesting that the syllabus tells you to pick material that relates to the situation with ted and sylvia and not just truth in general, and then analyse that situation in relation to telling the truth?

    Birthday Letters SOS Thread!

Hi, I plan to do your paris, and either sam or fullbright scholars. In the other thread you mentioned that we should be weary about using Plath poems and that the aim was to analyse the truth not Ted and Sylvia's relationship. Could you elaborate? In the only sample answer that I have...
