if you're talking about overrated you can't go past every St George player in the State of Origin side except perhaps Barret who was almost acceptable. But Gasnier, Cooper, Ryles, Bailey... they are kidding themselves. worst players i have ever seen, possibly the worst players to have ever existed of any sport anywhere in the entire history of the world.

Haha. What team do you go for, mate?

Is there any chance it is one of the teams where one or more of those four players destroyed you?

If it isn't and you aren't actually sour at them, then I suggest you learn more about rugby league.

I found it hilarious when i remembered reading an article on noddy about how he'd "learnt to not psyche himself out." What i saw was possibly the worst case of stage fright.

You can attribute some of the blame to lack of go forward, but at the same time, you as the pivotal role of half back really need to take it upon yourself to run the game if you see it failing.

There is no doubt noddy can play club, but when it comes to these kind of games, he's failed on song most times.

Kimmorley should be shot. He was terrible. Give Matty Orford a chance!

With all due respect to Matt Orford, as he is a quality halfback, if the NSW forwards get as dominated as they did in SOO I, Orford would be just as bad.

When was the last time Orford pulled a game out of his ass for Melbourne when they were getting dominated?

I've been saying this for a couple of years now, and the SMH seemingly finally picked up on today.

However, when Orford plays behind a pack going forward, he is possibly (and probably) the most damaging halfback in the competition.

The only way I'd be selecting Orford in SOO II is if the front row of Bailey, Ryles and Buderus is supported on the bench by Clinton and perhaps another specialist front rower (but I can't for the life of me find any viable options in the NRL at the moment). Either way, it would mean making a couple of changes to the forward pack to accomodate Orford. And still then, the NSW pack would have to get on top from the outset, which is almost impossible to do.

It has been widely accepted that Qld come out more fired up for SOO games, and the first 15 or 20 minutes they generally tend to dominate in defence and occasionally in attack.

Oh well, I shall wait to see what happens.

funny... theres only 1 bulldogs players selected... on the bench and the 3 roosters players in NSW were among the best on the whole field ... oops there goes your theory
please do not tell me that you are referring to Craig Wing and Anthony Minicello were among the best on the whole field in that origin match. They did NOTHING!!- giving as bad a performance as anyone- minicello had a CRAP game!

Dont get me started on Kimmorely - there seems to be a pattern running with him.. he plays good for cronulla so they pick him but when it comes to rep footy he stuffs up big time.. hey i got an idea DONT PICK HIM
and please kick out trent barrett.... most overrated player of the year

Ben Kennedy = King of Origin 1

I'd put Gower in, he did a good job last year (im pretty sure it was him?)
Craig Gower only played the first Origin, and his performance was pretty shameful. He got injured at the end of the match and wasn't selected again.

Brett Finch played halfback in SOOII, and Trent Barrett played in Origin III.

Trent Barrett is quite possibly a better halfback than five-eighth, as he has more license to run with the ball. NSW won SOOIII 36 - 14 I think.

wing provided the spark that contributed to the comeback, he wasnt the best on the field but he was one of the better nsw players.

i think you'll find that you are the only person who though mini had a crap game. what game were u watching. he defused dangerous situation, bombs, chips, grub, ... in attck, he troubled defenders all game long, consistently breaking the 1st tackle. it was his break which led to the gasnier try. if it wasnt for him, nsw wouldve definitely lost by more.

ben kennedy wasnt the king of origin 1. he only played for 50 or so minutes, in those minutes, he was the best running forward in the nsw team, but brad thorn did just as well if not better in the same way. fitzgibbon pulled of 59 tackles without missing a single 1, add that to the 100+ m, and a try, thats a monster game

edit: add the quote

hahahaha seriously dont make me laugh. wing? spark? he did nothing all game!! and i defend my statement on minicello- you say he defended dangerous kicks blah blah blah thats his JOB- it doesnt mean he was any better for it - i still dont think he did his job WELL. he has had some outstanding games in the past... SOO1 was NOT one of them as far as im concerned

when wing was at the dummy half at the start of the 2nd half, that created the momentum moving forward that was so lacking in the 1st half.

minichello was good in both defence and attack what more do you want. a good player does a good JOB at what they supposed to do... how high are your standards? 240m 5 linebreaks and a hattrick of tries for a good game? i would say minichello and fitzgibbon followed closely by hindmarsh and kennedy were clearly standouts from nsw

anasta is rubbish and i hope he totters off to union because standing off is more fashionable there. orford should definitely be given a chance and barrett should stay because he played well last year and that should count for something at least.
