  • Hey ilikebeeef (i like beef too, i guess)

I read your posts. You've done physics for your prelims, so I want to ask you for some advice.

    - Do you have to be good at math to do physics? I'm only doing 2u next year.
    - What's the math content/concepts like?
    - What are so me good study methods you could use to do well in physics?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, lol. Any help is much appreciated :)
    Thanks in advance.
I could even get into 3u after working hard in 2u over even one term. And I slacked off the past 4 years, but I still am able to work :)

I'm not that particularly excited about chem but bio and both histories i'm interested in, not sure if i'm that good at them, because obviously hsc/prelims is a different pot of history than junior school history, am i right?

and according to a few others you had to get an a9/10 to do 3u, whereas i only got a b7 as a course result. Still, if i were to do 3u i wouldn't think i'd be in the pits that much. it's not a lack of math talent or w/e, it's me not doing my work before that makes them think they can judge how i will go these 2 yrs.
    Yeah I"m asian

I wanted to do 3u math, 3u eng, ancient + modern history and bio but the school is only letting me do 2u math so I had to compensate for that lost unit by taking up either chem/phys

also I haven't told my mother yet that i'm doing 2u math, i was planning to move up next semester without having her know

and NOW i find it better if i actually do 2u math and chem, i suggested to my mother that i wanted to do that but she raged a ballistic at me and started pointing at me screaming DO 3U MATH etc

like imagine if i told her the school didn't even LET me do 3u math instead of me not wanting to do it.. ss
what do you mean by good

yeah the kids are all asian and their parents like to push them and all that

and they obviously won't let me do 3u or some other kids do 3u because they're afraid we'll drag the school's average down etc

i think that is quite evil.
Yeah, SBHS is an awesome school.

    - Great group of students. All students are tight together - you know people from grades both above and below yours.
    - Great group of teachers. Most of the teachers are fantastic.
    - Good school ethic - stress the importance of both academics and extra curricular.

    Negs
    - Sometimes a bit too competitive.
    - Sometimes a bit too sports orientated.

What year will he be entering?
