Don't know if this will be helpful but I just transferred from MQ comm/law to USYD, but I'm pretty sure that USYD will take the better 'score' of 50% ATAR/50% GPA or 100% GPA if that makes any sense at all.

Just transferred into Comm/Law at USYD from Macq, my GPA was 6.5/7 (using the USYD scale, average mark was 84) so you should aim for a high-D to low-HD average.
Not too sure about the credits as such as I haven't been to enrolment yet but I can let you know later.
