    question: the accounting hierarchy

ditto, interned at a big 4 and my snr manager told me to be a partner you would have to buy in, and she was adamant that this is common practice but correct me if this isnt the case esp in the mid/lower tiers. what does LLP have to do with non-equity contribution? wouldnt LLP would only serve...

Front-office salary - What should I expect? Newbie?

vagabond, i dunno if you realise this but ur glorified "pwc internal data" is probabaly based on what people submit for timesheets and most people put less hours than they actually work esp on a client. Just because the data suggest pwc has "great" work life balance and people avg 40 hrs a wk...

Front-office salary - What should I expect? Newbie?

100 hrs is definitely overstating it, 80 hrs is a reasonable estimate. As for audit, the work you do is srsly morbid and the pay (and payrise every yr) is just not good enuf. i think within IB, leveraged finance/sponsors and ECM has slowed down pretty badly but M&A hasnt really been hard hit...

    question: the accounting hierarchy

Directors and partners are the same thing, the name is interchangeable. vagabond's pretty much got the structure spot on. partners are not in their 30's....majority would be at least in their 40's, the idea of a non equity partner would be quite illogical, since the point of been a partner is...

    Finance is crap

i don't think finance is useless, depends on what you choose for your electives, i did fins 3635, 3625, and 3641, and really enjoyed the latter two. depending on what field you wanna work in, i thought security analysis and acf were very practical, but nothing compares to what you learn on...

LOL, i know people who've gotten in IB with credit WAM, it happens. But certainly the European and American banks prefer higher marks. Internal transfers are rare......

Getting Interviewed at an Investment Bank

ye second wat rorix said, don't banks check references after they make an offer? that's what happened to me for grad recruitment.... i think 1k is probabaly undercutting the interns, but most are doing it for experience so i don't think it should put off anyone in accepting.

    Finance Co-Op

err if ur talking abt finance co op then marks definitely matter alot, since most finance co ops are on a HD avg or around that mark. any other co op e.g. accounting, BIT, Marketing ur always chance

    Options/Stock Trading

quant would be ideal to get into trading especially when you get into the modeling side, but it isn't essential. I know quite a few guys in trading with comm, com/arts or com/law, majoring in finance. what is important is experience (preferably in the industry) and the ability to cope with the...
