Hi All,
Just a quick question.
I'm going to be buying texts for IPT - Prelim and HSC.
If you were buying a text for the IPT course, which one would you recommend.
(and if you have the time, could you say why you recommend the text)
With many thanks in advance,

Hi Scorch
Take II at a response. [edit: I use firefox/no-script and I've lost a few attempts. Sorry for brief summary.]
From the force triangle:
Force in the rope being pulled by the person as identified:

Hi Scorch,
Following on from iEdd's reply, draw a Free Body Diagram of the system at point A and then resolve forces using a force triangle. (google is your friend if you don't know what the force triangle is.)
They've used g=10 m.s^-2 for this example, and the correct answer is (e.)...
Hi Alen,
These questions are fairly simple ones, a little research would get these answers easily. See links below.

In NSW, try your local public library. They've got full on-line screen display access to all standards, including AS1100. There's a handbook for student drawing that is exactly what you're looking for available as an Australian Standards Handbook
Past exam papers with solutions are here: http://community.boredofstudies.org/28/engineering-studies/21872/user-submitted-notes-weblinks.html
Provided FREE by teachers to their students, as the solutions probably were provided to Karen as well as the OTEN (Distance School) notes.
