Just became 2IC at a Safeway Petrol... woo.

You're not technically required to have it, but a lot of establishments will want you to have it.

Start looking at ads for places to rent, attend the open days and then they will give you application forms to fill out. You'll need references (past flatmates, managers at work or even your parents I guess). If successful, the real estate agency will call you up to come and sign the lease...

What I'd reccomend you do is take the gap year, but for the first 6 or so months, work flat out, save up as much money as possible ie. 10+ grand. Then for the 2nd half, head over to France and you no doubt visit other countries while over there too. If money isn't an issue, ignore me.

Just received a reply from the HR Officer saying that they'd be really keen to interview me for a number of assistant manager positions coming up in Petrol. Seems like a decent stepping stone.

Haha, you'd pull your hair out at a petrol station. "Why is the Safeway petrol one down the road cheaper than the one here?" and then look at me like I'm meant to be like "Oh yeah, sorry, I'll just adjust it for you!" Ugh.

I work at the Safeway Petrol which is opposite the supermarket at Benton's Square. Store 3412 I think... Apparently they do pretty well. Not sure on figures though, I might ask.
