I thought the same thing. I figured out I would have gotten around 50% for the final, and I was very confident after walking out of the exam, so I was a little disappointed i'd scored so low after already having passed the course before the exam.

You would be better off to actually post this in the UNSW forum as you would get more replies from people who are actually doing the course there and would give their personal opinions. I know a few people doing Comm (intl), and it seems like the degree where you have to be pretty outgoing...

Also, if it's possible, you can get into the Adv Maths degree of Sci (so you would be doing Commerce/Science (Adv Maths)) and a major within that degree is Quantitative Risk. From what i've heard, the subjects you do within QR overlap a lot with finance. This is all from a UNSW perspective...

Finance/Actuarial is great with a Stats/Maths major from sci. Apart from that, I think marketing would be complemented well with psych in the sci component of your degree aswell.

I probably should have stated that lol. Like Kevin said, it's just an updated and reworked version of QMB, but still holds the weight of the compulsory stats course you have to take.

It's the exact same as BES. BES is just the new name for the subject and it used to be called QMB.

Imo, none. You should only be doing the course you want to do and the one you are passionate about/interested in. Too many people pursue degrees that they think will bring them wealth/status and hate it because it just doesn't interest them in the slightest. It seems as though you are deadset...

I am planning on doing financial economics as my eco major so this is a good post for me to see as I was a little worried my lack of 2u/3u maths would hinder me a lot. I did do 2u for about half of year 12, but i can't say i remember a great deal of it...
