Nah it was reported as 91 ( since the average of 92 and 89 is 90.5, but they don't do decimals so it's rounded up).

Yes but my Assessment mark was LOWER than my Exam mark, even though I'm ranked 1st. No one has been able to explain this.

I am 100% sure I was 1st, and by a big gap. I topped every assessment task and there was a gap of more than 20 marks in the trial exam between me and second place (trial was worth 40%). I go to a public school with a rank >400 but I was always told as long as I was first in a subject, I couldn't...

PLEASE EXPLAIN: My rank in Advanced English was 1st at my school, with a big gap between me and the next person. My exam mark in the HSC: 92/100 yet my Assessment mark was: 89/100. How does this happen? I thought being first in a subject meant I couldn't be "dragged down" by my peers? :S

So, just for the record, if you're the equivalent of first on the list for a particular program you would have gotten a conditional offer? But if you got shortlisted then you must be second or more? Correct?
