    General Thoughts: Chemistry

Pretty fair test. confidant of getting a good mark. Some of the MC where tricky, some where blatantly obvious. Same with some of the short answers too. Weird test compared to previous ones. In all im happy.

Re: General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1 Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu i changed a MC answer from the right one to the wrong one. How frustrating.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

So much better then 4u! After getting bashed around about for 4u i was pretty bummed heading into this exam. Though it was the easiest 3u paper i have seen. I'm hoping for a e4 or a high e3. Wollongong wanted me to get 50% in the 3u exam - mission accomplished.

    Belonging creative :D

Subtlety is key. If its some generic story about someone not belonging or belonging you get killed when it comes to marks. Subtle story lines and advanced structures and techniques get you the marks.

..Okay, So Who Got Selective Entry This Year?

I got a conditional entry. I need above 75 atar and above 25/50 in extension maths for civil engineering. Kinda annoyed, because i traveled a good 6 hours to get there not to mention traveling back and i get told i still have to get the requirements to get into the course normally anyway. Plus i...

    UOW Selective Entry

Yeah, i got a reply was a waste of my time also. I need a 75 atar and 50% in extension 1 maths to get given a spot in civil. I traveled 5 hours by train and then over an hour by car to get to the interview to be told i have to pretty much get the atar to get into the course normally.

    Maths ex1

Ext 1 exam you only get 2 hours of time for a test thats the same length as the other 3 hour maths exams. Yes going fast can result in silly errors, but if you practice and perfect your maths skills you shouldn't do any silly mistakes. Hopefully you'd finish the exam maybe 5 or 10 minutes early...

    Maths ex1

I have summaries on every topic i go over those to make sure i remember the formulas and look at a few examples to see the working involved. Also lots and lots of past papers. I do 1 a day pretty much. I'm working on speed. The quicker i can solve the problems correctly the better.

    Civil engineering help

Depends. The degrees are all done a bit differently. Personally i'd have UTS first just due to the work placement during the degree. UoW also has a pretty good rep for engineering. Anyway none of that really matters if you hate the campus at say UNSW and love the campus at UTS, go to UTS...

    UOW Selective Entry

I applied, i just did my interview today, i think it went well. Its definitely worth it for sure. Though it won't take any pressure off because they don't tell you if you got it until the hsc has started so you still have to study just in case you dont get it.

    Wollongong University

I am applying for UNSW and UTS. Just rather have a backup. Also the way im feeling heading to the hsc with lots of issues going on, im not as confidant of a high atar anymore. Also i like wollongong so i would be pretty happy to go there anyway.

    Wollongong University

I'm going for an interview for Civil Engineering there. They have a pretty okay rep for engineering. Obviously not as good as say UNSW, though the rep of uni's doesn't mean everything, say if i had top marks at UoW and you had bad marks at UNSW i would probably get the job over you.

    Wollongong University

Anyone else apply for selective entry there? Anyone else here been told to go for an interview? I'm happy and nervous at the same time, i need this to go well for me. The stress and things going on atm makes it seem like my atar may be below par, which could make it much harder for me to get...

Damn it. I meant n5-n divisible by 30. D'oh. I have no idea why i put squared :|

How do you study and revise SDD?

I'm a big fan of writing summaries, then summaries of the summaries etc until its as compressed as i can make it, then making it into a mind map. The more i write things the more i remember it, and i'm a visual learner so a visual representation of the important information is always good. Also...
