    memorisation techniques

Haha I can memorise an essay in about a day. I just kind of sing it out with whatever comes to my mind and then keep on singing it over and over until i remember it. Helps to match it with a song that you know

    memorisation techniques

I make these little songs/raps for each of my essays. Each with a different speed, tone, 'beat' etc. I thought, hey, I memorise so many different songs word for word, so why not do the same thing for my essays

    Ranks

Thats right, but if there is a big discrepancy between your school rank and how you rank in the HSC for your school, they end up moderating the mark. As long as your HSC mark is top 5 of your cohort you should still get the highest external mark

    Technique?

    Mod 7 Oxidation of Alcohols

So with the oxidation of a primary alcohol --> aldehyde --> carboxylic acid, what is the need for an oxidising agent such as Cr2O7(2-) and dilute acid such as H2SO4? Also are the acid and dichromate actually involved in the reaction or are they just catalysts?

    Mod 7 > newton refraction

You just break up the light vector into its horizontal and vertical components. The normal is just the component that is perpendicular to the surface, so in that diagram it would be the vertical line and the tangential component is horizontal, parallel to the surface since newton thought that...

are trials likely to extend beyond august/not happen at all?

trials are likely to be on no matter what, some subjects I've only had 2 examinations for so far cause we were meant to have 2 this term

    Subject Selection

not sure about economics but a lot of Year 12 physics is an extension of Year 12 - Module 5 builds on Mod 1 and 2, Module 6 builds on Module 4, Module 7 builds on Module 4. so if you were able to understand the concepts in Year 11 you should be able to do the same in Year 12 phys. personally...

    stats

You know the empirical or 68/95/99.7 rule? Basically 68% of scores is within 1 standard deviation from the mean (1 s.d above and below the mean), 97% within 2, and 99.7% within 3. For part a. you would need to work out how many standard deviations above or below the mean each of those scores...
