    Revenge Tragedy

Just as a question about the prescribed texts: Our teacher for Extension 1 is a history teacher. As such, we spend most of our time studying the contexts of the text. Of course, the context is important, but how much is everyone else doing on the context of each text? For example, at the...

Board of Studies reveals raw marks! (2001)

I think this is a great discovery by Laz! It's particularly helpful to someone in my position, who is repeating year 12. Even though I managed an over-90 UAI last year, I would really like to achieve a higher mark, and knowing my raw marks would be great in allowing me to know where I need to go...

    prediction please

I am unsure of the exact position that my school would be, but definitely top 40 in the state. It is also anticipated that there would hopefully be 15-20 people out of our year of 104 who would get a UAI above 90. However, my marks should be in the top 2 people from the year.

Hi could someone please give me a couple of UAI predictions? These are what the HSC marks should turn out to be... UAI 1 (this is the lowest my marks should go) Advanced English - 89/100 - rank 3/69 Extension 1 English - 34/50 - rank 4/9 Mathematics - 89/100 - rank 3/29 Extension 1 Maths...

    WHat happens...

If you do revenge tragedy, look back to the Shakespeare works you have studied over your years at school... Othello, Hamlet fit in with the genre, as do others (apparently) if you crap on enough. Also look at contemporary movies such as The Patriot, Gladiator - even if you dont have quotes...

    WHat happens...

What elective do you do for extension?
  8. L

    WHat happens...

Our teacher told us that in all circumstances, the prescribed texts CAN NOT be used as related texts, unless they are not related to the module at all... eg. for revenge tragedy, you could use any of the texts for other electives in module A, but not any of the set texts for revenge tragedy

    |5x+4| - |3x+7| = 5

Hmm theoretically correct though you left out one little bit: x = 3 is not within the region of x<0 (as it is in your answer) x = -1 is not with in the region of 0<=x<4/5 However, x=8 IS within the region of x>4/5 Therefore, the only correct solution is x= 8

    Arithmetic Sequences

Yep I worked them out today! They actually arent that hard once you get the pattern worked out... I just always got the simple formula for arithmetic progressions mixed up:chainsaw:

    Arithmetic Sequences

For finding the sum of an arithmetic sequence, the formula is: Sum = n/2 [2a + (n-1)d], when the first term, difference, and number of terms is known. However, what is the variation of the formula when both the last and first term are known? Is it: Sum = n/2 (2a + l) ? Thanks...
