    nek minute a finance question which is usually 3 marks is in multiple choice. i reckon they will put harder 2u in the multiple choice.

    I guess it was an alright test. I was expecting more integration (i mean they put partial fractions and no integration. WTF!!!) and was expecting more volume questions. complex numbers locus questions were hard and a bit challenging. probably getting 65-70% raw.

    Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon ^ Thanks a lot. Yeh matrices/determinants are really helpful and fast in finding the area, especially in conics. In the 2003 hsc conics question, 4 marks for the area of the triangle, using only 2-3 lines of working.

    Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon In hsc maths, can we use matrices/determinants, even though it is not in the course, to find the area of a polygon if they haven't specified "hence".

    Out of all the days in October, it has to be the coldest on our English Exams. It is the most pressurised exam and on top of that our examination hall is going to be freezing + I think our school will turn on the air-conditioner. :mad: :rage: :mad:

    Hey guys, i just needed advice for AOS essay If you have prepared and memorised quotes and techniques for an essay on Identity, and it turns out that the essay is on choice/barriers or something which is irrelevant to what you have memorised, how will you go about answering the question.

    Let say if the question says to write a creative using the central element of a picture/statement. Am i supposed to let the markers know which picture/statement i am using or would the markers be able to figure it out.

    well in the above solution, it is supposed to be (x+2)^2=-4a(y-3) (this is because it is concave down) and then u sub in the points (2,1) and you get 16=8a hence a=2 therefore the equation is (x+2)^2 = -8(y-3)
