Just remember that the HSC mark you see is not your raw mark, but some sort of scaling would have been applied to it. So theoretically, your mark would increase without you doing anything (since you're being compared to the rest of the state's performance).

I find that memorising essays don't work, but rather memorising and understanding the main points of the argument/text/examples/quotes/whatever are the most effective methods of studying since you can adapt your answer to the question. So many of my HSC friends have done badly in English...

Depends on what type of person you are, but sometimes I find that studying too much leaves you tired and braindead in the morning come exam time, which is worse. Just study consistently and cram if it really comes to it.

Vietnamese Continuers, Arts and DT have horrible scaling. If you wanted to do subjects with high scaling, I suggest MX2 and Latin Ext. But seriously, even if you do a high scaling subject, if you do crap in it you will still get a crap mark overall. Scaling only works to your advantage if you...
