Doesn't really mean anything, this board's members aren't proprtionate of which uni everyone in the state is going to. I don't want to dwell much into the UNSW vs USyd debate only to say that if you're happy with your course that is all that matters (and the environment too).

Those asiaweek guides are bs anyway, I wouldn't take any notice of them or go to a university simply based on those rankings (same goes for the good guides).

if you are given a co-op scholarship you can only do a single degree such as commerce (act. studies) and can't take on a double degree.

I'm planning on a maths major under science maybe finance or accounting under commerce.

Does anyone know when we are supposed to purchase them? Do we order online at the co-op bookshop or do we get given a text list during O-week and stand in waiting queues?

It's one of those days where you meet other incoming students whom you will be studying with during first year. It also involves activities to create peer groups, first year impressions from a current USyd student, study tools, lunch, tour of campus, outcomes of a science based training...

I'm going to the faculty welcomes, doesn't affect me what time it finishes since I will be living on campus. I have to go to the science welcome as well as the commerce one. btw what course are u studying?

nah I reckon it would be USyd (since it is a member of the group of 8), then Macq, then UTS

you won't necessarily waste 4 years, because you can always keep trying to get into medicine. it's prob easier to get into med at Usyd because GAMSAT tests you on first year chem, phys, and bio. Whereas doing med at UNSW as an undergrdauate student, you have to sit UMAT, which tests you on...
