number of hours study per day

nah I mean everyone. sorry for keeping your hopes up to high :D. But hey, my point is that u don't need to stress about the HSC.
  2. U

number of hours study per day

lol, u still have to study but I don't think excessive amounts are required. Of course it depends on the type of person you are, as to how much u need to study.

    Should i get a tutor?

Yeah I agree with everyone, tutors aren't worth it. I mean I had no maths teacher for ext. 2 maths, or any tutors foor any of my subjects and still got 98.5 All the info u need to know are in the textbooks.

    anyone attain a scholarship??

Yeah I think so, just depends on how many people put macquaire as a first preference.

How much did Yr 12 2002 Study during their December/January Holidays (2001)?

I did absolutely no study during the x mas holiidays. Enjoy the hols while you have them, cause u won't have anymore until you have finished yr 12.

number of hours study per day

Re: Time management Depends what people define as a "good" UAI. I only did about 2-3 hours a night study even during stuvac and still ended up with 98.5. So more study doesn't mean you will do better.

Write OR Type notes? Which is better?

hmmm after reading through this thread I realise that I am the only one who didn't do any summaries for any of my subjects. I simply read the textbooks over and over till it sunk in and then did practive problems. practice problems were more efficient than writing straight summaries which I...

    what uni and course?

My second preference is B science (adv. mathematics)/B commerce at Usyd and the UAI required strangely enough is only 93.00 and if u do B science ( adv maths) it is 98.1:confused:
  9. U

    anyone attain a scholarship??

you are on the borderline for an innovation scholarship flyin (same as me) I think it's from 98.5 - 99.49
  10. U

    2002 UAI's

I've changed my preferences and I'm almost certainly going to do commerce/ advanced science at UNSW, and I should easy get into it cause the UAI required is only 94. something. So I'ld definitely see you down there. I'm thinking to major in actuarial studies and finance under commerce, and...

    Dux of year 12

Mike Davey got dux, he got 98.55 cause he topped the state in design and technology. I came second with 98.5.
  12. U

    2002 UAI's

Beat me kaseita I was expecting higher but anyway, doesn't look like I'll be doing commerce/law at Usyd or UNSW anymore. :(

    Who DOSN'T do Physics

It doesn't affect me either, but if u look at it, 4 unit maths actually has a physics component in that of mechanics - this is very physics based, and is what I call true physics, not the BOS's english version of physics. I reckon u could almost say that physics and chem are english...

After 13 years...thoughts, emotions and pearls of wisdom

yep I'm looking forward to a new life at Uni and can't wait to get started (so glad school is over now, became to repetitive). I reckon the key to doing well is a mixture of work and recreation as people say work hard, play hard.
  15. U

    Dux of year 12

At my school I missed out from dux by a UAI of 0.05 damnit.
  16. U

    fee paying courses

hmm I don't think that would be the case. Once u get to uni people will forget about your UAI and will be more focused on their actual degree program. Hence they won't have time to look down on people who do the same course but are full-fee paying students.
  17. U

    correspondence anyone????

I had to go to Armidale to sit UMAT, couldn't wait to get out of the place. I'm not doing correspondence but if that works for you then go ahead with it.
  18. U

    the uai system

lol jessika, u realise that most of the 99.5+'s here are applying for commerce/law at either UNSW or Usyd (or they are applying for medicine) and there isn't much hope of the cut-off going down. In fact it will probably go up in my opinion.
  19. U

    medical science

Yes I went very bad in UMAT, destroyed all my hopes of getting into medicine. I got a good UAI of 98.5 though, but at the moment, have chosen to take commerce/science at UNSW instead of medicine now. UMAT really discouraged me I guess.
  20. U

    what uni and course?

Yes I'm sure the pay is good. I'm hoping to do B science (adv maths) / B commerce at Usyd. U can major in mathematics and statistics, both being niche areas today, thus if you are good u get higher paid salaries.
