Are these the best days of our lives??

UNI has a lot of good points, but I miss the security of high school. I'd trade in the independence of UNI for the safety of High School any day!:( I also think the HSC was a lot less work...though it all depends on your course I guess.

    Graduation Songs...

We didn't get to chose ours. I don't even remember what it was...

    Study Hours

Our school (public, non-selective) said we should do 2 hours of work a night at the very least (homework and study-not just straight study), but more if we had upcoming assessments and exams. However, I did not follow this advice...I didn't do any study during the year until it was 1 night or 2...

Are these the best days of our lives??

Yes-I think high school is the peak, sadly. And as bad as yer 12 seems at the time, when it is all over and you are looking back, you realise what a great year it is, or could have been. The lesson is NOT to waste every hour of the day cooped up studying!

    study buddies

Study buddies never work-if you both have a basic idea of whats going on, you always end up just chatting about bullshit. If neither of you are feeling too confident, you end up just talking about how screwed you are, and not actually getting aroudn to any study. And if one person knows less...

    Teachers

It's hard to say whats good and bad when it comes to teaching...I know that we all hated the way out Modern History teacher taught us in year 11 and 12, because she didn't follow the syllabus and spoon-feed us information like all our other teachers did. She taught us heaps of different aspects...

    Is your grade really competitive?

After our modern history HSC , I was talking to my friends about the exam, and one of them said something to the effect of "Which question did you answer about Mao Zedong, the first or the second?" Unfortunately, we were supposed to answer BOTH questions she was talking about, and each were...

    university grades

Well, in theory the bottom 5% probably will fail, usually. ;) But you wouldn't fail based solely on the fact you are in the bottom 5%.

    university grades

I'm not sure how UNI scaling works, but the bellcurve wouldn't dictate that 5% of people will fail the subject.

    dan/chrissie/reggie

Yep-Marty had a girlfriend. Needless to say she was NOT waiting when he came out! BB3 was by far the best. I think the 2 houses idea was kinda stupid, but I think it worked out pretty well in the end. This series was especially good, because the person who got voted out each week was always...

    university grades

UNIs a whole different ballgame to high school. Theres no way in hel you can predict the type of grades you can expect in UNI from high school marks...especially Year 10 marks.

    university grades

I think that is probably the main reason. If all you had to do was pass and there was absolutely no reason anyone else would care what your grades were in terms of employment etc, people would still strive for a HD, if it meant they could look good to the person sitting next to them.

    Past papers

If this years HSC is anything like last years, it's anyones best guess what mark you could end up with in bio. The questions were ridiculous....your marks could have gone either way in the multiple choice section, because a lot of it you couldn't really have studied for. If you haven't looked...

    Ben Lee

I'm not a massive fan, but I dunno...for some reason I have a real soft spot for him, even if I don't think he's that great. Theres just something about that twang in his voice...it's annoying, yet endearing. And I have a newfound respect for him after hearing The Bens concert simulcast on...

Yes, she! SHE! I find it funny people would think someone posting under the name "Butterfly_Wings" would be a male.:p

    The American President?

You can use absolutely anything so long as it relates. Romance, horror, action, comedy...teachers do not care in the slightest, so long as you make it work. And obviously you will focus all your attention on the power side of things, not on the romance side of things. So in a word-yes.
  18. B

    university grades

Yeah, you end up with the exact same degree, so long as you pass. It's like the HSC though...you can still say you've completed the Higher School Certificate, whether you got a UAI of 50 or a UAI of 100, but the student who got a UAI of 100 will have more options than the student who got 50...

    Is your grade really competitive?

My school wasn't very competitive. Some people really cared about their marks, but they were also willing to help others out, and not try to screw peopel over to get ahead. I guess that was good in a way, but maybe if things were a bit more competitive I may have actually given a shit. There...
