    Muhammad Cartoon Controversy

This is just a general statement - If you are willing to take the time to create a post here on BOS asking after something in particular, then surely you have the time to try a quick Google search in order to try and find what it is that you would like to see.

    Marriage. Neccessary?

Yes, it has been discussed before, but I can see no reason to close this thread just yet. Of course, I would prefer it if those debating the issue did so from a socio-political point of view - if you want to talk about personal notions of love alone and as such ignore the wider issues, please...

    The Wheat Bribe Affair

Claims that Government would have known of AWB payments The Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and the Trade Minister have all dismissed Mr Reed's comments, but the interview may still be of interest to some. --- Edit: PM will not end AWB monopoly

    RU486 - Abortion Pill

If we are to take the relevant medical organisations as being knowledgeable guides, it's likely that the drug's 'ban' will be lifted some time in the near future. In saying this, I'm assuming that the current bill will be passed by the lower house and that someone will then sponsor the drug for...

    The official IR reform thread!

That seems to be the issue - if so many didn't truly understand the former/still current system, then I think that it would be asking too much to expect such people to already be well aware of what the new system will entail. Also, there have been more claims and statements (political and...

    New Moderators & Farewell

Given that I deleted my post... Suggestions are made, questions are asked and the appointment is discussed by the moderators and the admins. The admins then have the final say (as you would expect).

    New Moderators & Farewell

It's a shame that you have to leave this particular sub-forum, but all good things must come to an end. Thanks again for the vote of confidence, Moonlight.

    Ministerial Responsibility

Source: SMH 2006 (see p. 2) So, the notion of ministerial responsibility has changed (as all with an interest in the federal arena would know), but has it changed for the better or worse when one considers scandals such as those faced by the immigration department and the AWB? In your opinion...

    Abortion debate

What, but taking a step backwards in terms of the rights that a woman should be free to exercise? See above. What are these views, phanatical? Are they much like your partisan rants against USyd's SRC and the way in which it supports the rights of women and minority groups? Are the goals...

    Abortion debate

Phanatical, surely by now you know that such a point of view is so far removed from reality that it isn't funny? Here's to hoping that one day you get that chip off your shoulder and start to treat such issues in a constructive manner... I won't be holding my breath, though.

    Abortion debate

I didn't say that - I would want to have my thoughts heard and taken on board, but as it's her body, ultimately it would be her choice. Now, in no way am I saying that I would necessarily be comfortable with whatever choice she may happen to make, but I would support her decision regardless.

    Abortion debate

Ultimately, it is that simple. To argue otherwise is to be of the opinion that a woman shouldn't be free to exercise her reproductive rights.
