Doe your background really affect your subject choices?

So you had ZERO influence from "external" factors?

Doe your background really affect your subject choices?

Na mate, the Baulko curry combo is 3u maths, 3u english, phys, chem and eco (accelerated if you're an ABSOLUTE BEAST!!) - they have like 140-ish/200 people at the start of yr 11 doing 3u english so doing only 2u english is not really the "classic combo"...

Doe your background really affect your subject choices?

However, this thread is about what you CHOSE, not what you succeeded in the most, and you chose MX2, Phys and Chem. And seeing that you said that English was your best subject and the fact that you're Asian, it makes me wonder. Did you get pressured into choosing MX2 and/or Phys and/or Chem.. by...

Doe your background really affect your subject choices?

You did Ext. 2 English because you were capable of it, however you also did MX2, Phys and Chem... :D
  5. theind1996

How many MX2 and EE2 students at your school?

    At my old school: EE2---- 6-7 MX2--- 25-30 Girra: EE2---- 10-ish MX2--- 75-ish --------> 60-ish by HSC

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

AHA righto, yea although there seems to be a pretty drastic drop in the accelerants' results from 2010 ------> 2011. Do you know how the 2013 cohort is, similar to 2012, 2011 or 2010? HAHA, just to check out what sort of competition I have.. (although you probs don't know at all LOL) but there...

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

Haha yea I've seen the "event" for the tri-schools thingo on FB and the amount of trolling by Baulko and self-aggrandising and boasting comments by Girra was bloody unbelievable. especially that Ramanathan Jeganathan XI... OMG so much fuckery while Ruse was probs too busy studying xD...

Yeah, but Hurlstone is in SOUTH-WESTERN SYDNEY. Glenfield and Blacktown region aren't exactly "close". and look at this: http://bettereducation.com.au/Resources/NSWSelectHSEntryScores.aspx Girra entrance score > Hurlstone > Penrith (46th WTF?!) > Sydney Tech (23rd WTF?!)

soz i didn't count MATHS AND ENGLISH or it would look like: Modern History < Biology < Advanced Maths = Advanced English < Physics < Chemistry < Economics < History Extension < English Extension 1 < English Extension 2 < Maths Extension 1 < Maths Extension 2 (NOT COUNTING ANY LANGUAGE COURSES...

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

    1. But the quality of intake shouldn't have dropped seeing that every curry/asian family in Western Sydney wants their kid to go to Girra inafter they realise that their kid is too dumb to get into Baulko. As well as that, Girra's Year 7 selective entry score is ~ equal to Normanhurst and Fort...

Dude, you're going to be at Syd Tech. = good school + you like business + you already have physics and eco which are good scaling = Moey dw about scaling Shame you can't do 13 units or you could have done 3u maths, 2u english, phys, chem, eco, business

Wasn't the outgoing year 12 (your grade) Baulko touch team like Syd. West champions 2 yrs back?
  15. theind1996

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

    Can you suggest why?
  16. theind1996

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

Probably should scale better, but have you seen the size of the state candidature for business (like 15,000 +) - many people seem to choose business ONLY coz it's similar to economics but it seems to them as if business is easier to them than economics (as it is LOL). so therefore, imo more...

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

LOL probs a bad word to use in that situation but what I meant was that they should accelerate "harder" 2u subjects like Chemistry, Economics or even Maths 3u and above. The staff at Ruse probably realise that if they didn't accelerate Agriculture and offered it in the same year as Phys, Chem...
  18. theind1996

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

Ruse does shifty shit to maximise band 6's like accel-ing Agriculture, SDD/IPT Sydney Boys accels. 2u maths to maximies Band 6's but forces those accelerants do 4u anyway.. WTF NSB and NSG accels. IPT Baulko only accelerates economics (right?) which is a pretty hard subject compared to those...

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

Business Studies doesn't align well - for humanities, aligning wise : Society and Culture < Business Studies < Ancient History < Geography < Legal Studies < Studies of Religion 1 < Modern History < Economics and BTW, top 5 aligning 2u subjects: Modern History < Biology < Physics < Chemistry...
  20. theind1996

    Strength of 2012 cohorts

But I heard that Ruse doesn't even offer Business as well as Legal.. Because then basically at their school for 2 unit "humanities" subjects, you can only choose Economics, Modern, Ancient, Geography (if there's ever a class for it..) and Girraween's 2012 cohort is pretty inferior to previous...
