What is your all time favourite book?

I have two all time favourite books: High Fidelity, and 31 Songs, both by Nick Hornby. High Fidelity is ever so slightly better, but the two are my all time favourites, I've read them both literally dozens of times cover to cover, and I still love them both to bits.

Triple J is my friend no longer

Triple J is still my friend. Library Spice's house party last weekend was a rocking way to both finish an assingment and make me feel bad for staying home on a Saturday night.

    taste of chaos 06

I cant stand emo, so I hope Deftones don't do this tour and play their own shows instead. It's just a shame they're all so fat now.

    Holocaust jailed.

I have been interested in David Irving, his life and work, for about three years now, and I find the jail term quite surprising. I also don't appreciate how his opinions have been caricatured and oversimplified by much of the media. Though he is certainly an anti semite, and a fabricator of...

    Semester I Timetable (2006)

Woah, it looks like I have a clash with Geog 2511 and Psych 2011, with the only lectures for both on at Mondays at 4pm. What will happen?

    Favourite band(s)

Nice. My favourite band is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

    brokeback mountain

I totally agree, the fact that several key moments in the character's lives are shown only briefly or not at all added, to me, a layer of mystery around the whole thing. Particularly in finding out that Jake Gyllenhaal's character had taken on another lover towards the end of his life, and in...

Nicely put. May I also recommend the documentary 'A Day in September', for a frank and compelling look at the events which occurred at the 1972 Munich Olympics themselves. (Many of the clips from the first ten or so minutes of Spielberg's Munich are also included in this documentary, news...

Saw this today, very much enjoyed it. I even enjoyed Eric Bana's performance, he's quite the actor even without a hokey American accent or big plastic hair. I think this is Spielberg's best film in almost a decade.

The Official Big Day Out 2006 Thread (stickied?)

My 5th BDO and an awesome day, as always. Though Kings of Leon had a pretty muddy mix, it was great seeing them live. Alright, Mars Volta tonight at the Enmore and Kings of Leon again tomorrow night!

    best ever concerts

A Perfect Circle played the Hordern on Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st of February 2004. I was there for the Friday, good gig.

    best ever concerts

Have been to many gigs, and many great ones, but my all time favourite was January 2005, The Music at the Enmore Theatre. Energy levels off the charts, such an awesome night.

Best movies of the New Millenium

Just to finish off proceedings. Off the top of my head, the top 3 would probably be: Kill Bill 1, Kill Bill 2, The Rules of Attraction. Both Million Dollar Baby and Mystic River deserve a mention, too. There's still a few years left, so here's hoping we squeeze a few more classics out.

    Best movie of the 80's

The Shining. Also my favourite Kubrick film and my favourite 'horror' film. Platoon, and Born on the 4th of July, as well and a bunch of other good Vietnam movies deserve a mention.

    best movie of the 90's

Most of my favourite films of all time are from the 90s. I'll narrow it down to a top 5: Goodfellas, The Usual Suspects, The Virgin Suicides, Pulp Fiction, American Beauty.
