    Exam - special consideration?

I'm fairly sure if the doctor says to take the day off, then the university should allow you to take the day off, especially if you have a fever. Just call and ask.

    Exams - plagiarism?

Just don't. Referencing and citing appropriately is one thing, but spitting out someone else's essay word for word is just asking for trouble. Universities crack down on this kind of thing harder than you can imagine, and I can't see how it being done in an exam would change that.

    What's Better?

This Especially in the early stages, before you get into the swing of it, hitting law full-time can be difficult.

    Cotton on Group Interview

I did last year It's just maybe around... 20 to 30 people in a room, and the HR people get you to introduce yourself to your partner, introduce them to the group, and answer some silly question like, 'if you had a superpower, what would it be?' Something about what's important in a shop, why you...

You're scaring the hell out of me now

    Jobs for 15 year olds

Go for retail over hospitality. Having worked in both, I can tell you that in retail you do not miss the constant cleaning, scrubbing and sweeping that hospitality entails. I had to wash my hair after every shift from all the grease that would end up clinging to it.

    Fail Customers

Lol, floppy pizza. We had a homeless guy who would come around regularly to our gourmet burger shop to beg for money from our customers. The team leader would generally make him leave, but one day, his friend's mother felt sorry for this guy and said, I won't give you money, but I will buy you...

    Prisoners calling our homes

You could always just put an officer with them in the room, and only choose certain prisoners to do the program. I highly doubt they'd be putting child molestors, serial killers, sexual predators and those likely to threaten or intimidate on the phones. In any case it would be a hell of a lot...

    Prisoners calling our homes

Look, I think, the more useful work you give to prisoners, the more they can build their skills-base, be involved, have something to occupy themselves and work towards a decent life after prison. So I think it's fine, provided they're adequately supervised and monitored.

Where and how much do you tip?

I tend to leave my change if I'm in a small restaurant or local take-away, as I find it kind of stingy to take your 45c or whatever. Other than that... I guess if it's been particularly nice I'll just round it up to to nearest $5 or whatever, but I won't actually put down a specific tip. Never...

    What have you eaten today?

A ham, cheese, tomato and lettuce baguette; a hot chocolate; a custard tart and some dried apricots. Not much fun

    Civil Law Vs Common Law

Haha, what a classic. Australia is a common law country, having adopted the system from Britain on colonisation. Civil law is, in essence, code-based law derived from the Roman legal system. Think of it as really legislation controlling everything, with not much of a focus on precedent...

    Blogging

The only blog I've ever followed is Gaijin Smash. Other than that, I have no interest in the petty ins-and-outs of people's lives, which is what tends to dominate most blogs.

Highly intelligent animals in captivity - yes/no?

I'd contrast metropolitan zoos to places like Werribee Open Range Zoo. It depends wholly on the circumstances. If you can provide a safe, interesting and healthy environment that is big enough for the animal and potentially allows the species a better chance at survival overall, I don't think...

    Use of the word 'gay'...

As much as the term might seem to be inoffensive these days, I think it would have a strong impact on younger and potentially more sensitive people who may be frightened of 'coming out' for all the perceived homophobic language being bandied about. I think it's still too strongly associated...

    Masks

Just go to any costume shop. They should have tonnes.

If death is only biological then what is life?

Life is nature's way of keeping meat fresh Thank you, Doctor. I don't think life has any inherent meaning. The beauty of human culture is its ability to ascribe higher meaning to what is, in the end, really just biology and physics at work.

    What are you currently Reading?

Perfume. It's so hideously, wonderfully trashy.
