    ionic equations

When they ask for a full ionic equation, they want you to show all the ions, including spectator ions. When they ask for a net ionic equation, they dont want spectator ions, just the ones that participate in the reaction.

    biology marks

I think bio only gets scaled up a bit when they calculate your uai (Im pretty sure it doesnt get scaled down), but its not like if u do 4u maths or something like that where it scales heaps. I got 85 without having to be a bio nerd:p Its not that hard to go well in bio, its mainly just memorise...

    States in chemical equations

If all the compounds on both sides of the equation are all aqueous then it means that no reaction actually takes place since as theyre all just ions in a solution. They would all just be spectator ions and just cancel out. Its kinda like getting salty water and adding more salty water to it, all...

    what are you up to

Its in between terms 1 & 2 now, so you still have two more terms to finish the course. Stuvac doesnt start until the end of term 3 after the trials are over, but most schools have like 5 weeks between the end of the trials and the beginning of stuvac so you should have plenty of time to study...

    ionic equations

Another thing, if the ion stays in the same state before & after the reaction, such as (aq), then it means that it is a spectator ion. If it undergoes a change of state then it is not a spectator ion.

    States in chemical equations

Because Ive never used it before, and besides the conq chem book Ive never seen it used so I dont think its a very widely used notation. Id stick with (aq) instead. I dont think you'll be asked about non aqueous solutions though, because even in uni you dont see them very much.

    States in chemical equations

I still wouldnt use it anyway

Which sketch show is better: Comedy Inc or skithouse?

I like both. Skithouse is good because it comes up with all these original sketches - like the australian fast bowler :D, and comedy inc is good when they pay out tv shows & celebrities - I reckon ozzy osburne is pretty funny:p But I have to agree with everyone else, nothing beats good ol full...

    on research of catchments

We did the Sydney catchment too, and the Sydney water site is good for describing the processes involved in pruifying the water to make it drinkable. Just follow the links from the main site and it will take you to the school section.

    another dot point Question

I think what this dot point is asking is to find some data on AAS & pollution, and then talk about how accurate & sensitive AAS is in detecting pollutants. Then talk about how AAS can be used to measure even slight changes in the levels of pollutants, and so pollution can be controlled to a much...
