screwed up first two assessments for most subjects

It is your ranks that are most important. Usually the first two assessments aren't worth a huge percentage of your final HSC result, so you definitely have a chance achieving a UAI over 80. Just make sure you improve before it gets to your trials, especially in your rank. :)

    18th birthday party ideas?

My sister's turning 18 in October, and she wants to have some sort of dress-up party. We tried going through every letter of the alphabet to see what we could come up with. We then got up to "C" and we stopped after that... I suggested a Rocky Horror party for her. I reckon that'll be cool.

Wanted: Chem Study Tips and Accelerated Students

The way I studied chemistry was going through every dot-point and looking through various textbooks and online resources to answer them. I'd then write them down (don't make it too long- just a few points), read it and then try to understand it rather than rote learn it. The more you understand...

    Are you a trusting person?

I'm not really a trusting person. I trust my parents, sister and boyfriend. It takes a while for people to gain my trust.

Does anyone here work in Big W?

They're not really stages. You choose to work either night fill/recovery, sales associate or checkouts. If you work on checkouts, you can then move to other places like lay-by home entertainment, cash office, etc. But once you have learnt checkouts, you can also choose to do some recovery...

    >90?

Do you mean the UAI? It's a bit more than 10% (probably 13%) because the UAI assumes that all students continue to year 12 and therefore doesn't take into account those who drop out.

Does anyone here work in Big W?

Yeah. I've been working in there for about a year and a half now. I used to be on the checkouts. I could never go back to checkouts. :p

    Favourite ice cream flavours

I love Turkish ice-cream. It's like chewing gum and you can cut it with a knife.

Does anyone here work in Big W?

We get them fairly early. It used to be after 3 months which was the length of the probation period (probation period is now 6 months). But I've been giving out staff discount cards to associates who have been working less than that. Ask the cash office about it.

Post your 2007 University Offers Here!

For the majority of courses, you will definitely get into the course you want if you achieve higher than the cut-off. Some other courses, like pharmacy and medicine, have additional criteria you must meet.

    The Woolworths Thread

Really? That's scary. Cash office is a pain in the arse because everyone relies on you.

Does anyone here work in Big W?

The type of people they are looking for are 15/16 year olds. By the looks of it, they don't give a crap about past work experience, as long as they are cheap. I've worked at Big W for 4 years, and pretty much every single person they have hired are really young school students with no work...
