    i = negative number?

Check this out: 4 ln (i) = ln[(i)^4] = ln (1) Therefore, ln (i) = 0. Which is clearly not true. Therefore, i<0, or logarithm laws don't apply. However, log laws do apply to complex numbers, as the solution of negative logs can be found in the complex field. Ergo., i<0.

    cuban missile crisis

That explains it. I have some notes on the missile crisis, but they're all based on why the accounts are different, rather than what the truth behind them is.

What topics are u doing for the project?

Belle, how far are you into JFK? We're doing that as well...it's quite depressing, really....but incredibly interesting

    coordinate covalent bonding

See, I always figured that the energy used to make ozone went into breaking one of the bonds in the oxygen gas double bond. What I can't figure out is where that energy goes into, if that bond doesn't break - is it in breaking another O2 bond to release atomic oxygen? And if so, why is sunlight...

    chem scientist??

Yeah, Fritz Haber turns up in the ammonia production stuff. I think the hardest part of that is figuring out the principle on which they base their work. The example in CC's pretty good.

    cuban missile crisis

You're not doing extension by any chance, are you?

    Half-yearly Exam Results

49/50 I'm happy :) But then again, it's early days yet, and we've got more than 75 % of assessments left. Hang in there!

    Marks & education...

Is anyone else finding that their schools are so focused on marks that it's actually detrimental to the whole purpose of school - i.e. education?

    individual project due date

I think ours is due around abt trials as well. We haven't really had much help with doing the projects, it's mostly just been with determining the focus questions. It shouldn't take all that long....I started a couple of weeks ago, and I've already written abt 1300 words. I still have abt 10...

What topics are u doing for the project?

I reckon :) We're going Russia now in modern, and the way Stalin just 'rewrote' history.... I love watching people manipulate the truth. That's why politics is so much fun :)

    Favourite historian?

We were pretty lucky, we just scraped in with a class. It was offline last term, but now we actually get timetabled periods. Our classes on the "what is history" topic usually ended up as arguments over whether truth existed or not. Being one of the major participants, let me just say I never...

What topics are u doing for the project?

Controversy. The lifeline of every historian..... I'm doing revisionism in history, specifically David Irving.

    National Studies

We did Nazi Germany last year - it's pretty interesting, but I think Russia's more so (we're doing that this year). I think Russia's fascinating because there's so much discrepancy between the different histories that have been written on it over the years and because of the cold war & all...

How much work have you done so far for your PROCESS DIARY?

I did a majorwork for Ag. last year, and I let my process diary get really behind, so I kinda learnt from that experience.... It's actually quite useful for sorting out ideas and making decisions - for example, I had the hardest time trying to make a decision on one of my characters, but...

    The Individual and Society

Yeah, we're doing the same texts - we're in the middle of P&P now. Co-incidentally, I'm also considering Wilde's "An Ideal Husband" and Anna Karenina; if you want to do poetry, Coleridge is good; Also anything written by Charles Dickens would work.

    Help With English!

Unfortunately, can't direct you to any sites, though I'd say check out the news sites. The texts I covered for changing perspectives were American History X, Schindler's List and Huck Finn. Great Expectations is also a great way to go, and I know many people used Pleasantville. Good luck :)

    english assessment!!!!!

It depends on how long your speech is, and how much you can focus on. It's usually better to do the minimum number of aspects in detail than a greater number in less detail. If you think you can cover another aspect (besides marriage) equally effectively - or more so - by all means, go for it...
