Post your 2006 HSC results here!

I have 17 marks differences for my Mathematics Extension 2 result... and what funny is I came last out of 3 people, but my examination mark is 17 marks lower than my assessment mark... is this normal?:worried:

Who Didn't Go To Their Formal?

How about graduation? Being a poor public school, we can raise fund to organise only one event for year 12s; graduation or formal. I guess our graduation is similar to typical formal anyway, but without the expensive clothing (wear school uniform). Of course the school supported us but just not...

Who Didn't Go To Their Formal?

No formal organised by my school... ever... yay or nay?

    Assessment Rank Notification

Tomorrow is the day. Hopefully I got the same rank as my report because the rumour I received said that there were two big mistakes in my report. Is the release time at 12:00 AM or 06.00 AM?

    Estimate your raw mark.

To separate the best, really really good, very good, real-good, good, pretty good and quiet good students at the high-end.

    Comparison of Multiple-Choice Answers

I think at that time the terms "dissociation" and "ionisation" are used interchangeably due to lack of knowledge about ions, although Faraday has already done a lot of works on quantitative ions analysis using electrolysis prior to Arrhenius time. Really hope you are right though, lol, gonna...

OK. I also chose C but I chose C only because there is a H+ there. :D According to some people above, pH system has not been invented at that time (I think the pH concept was first introduced in early 1900), so that is the problem with C. How can you show a relationship with something that has...

Maths Ext 1 - General thoughts on the exam

2 significant figures? You mean getting 5.0/84 or 9.0/84??? :p I know you mean two digits positive integer, or in other word 10+/84. If it is your extra unit, then don't worry about it like Rax said.

    10. I see what you mean, but for the 2005 one, the 2MnO(OH)2 is in solid state which then taken to be dissolved. I don't know. I will check with my teacher later. EDIT: Ok, I got it. It is C. 11. Ok, maybe D. I admit I chose C because there is a H+ there. :D Arrhenius' definition is that when...

    How Early Did You Finish

Finish at "pens down" as always.

    Estimate your raw mark.

Those people who think they got 90+ raw, I suggest to think again. If you don't get 97+ for your external mark, then you didn't get 90+ raw. Believe me it is that hard.;) Don't worry, dream big, set your goal high, because scaling is unpredictable.

Is Chemistry your last exam? (merged)

Yes. Good luck for those who will do exams on Wednesday. (BOS think these "few" year 12 students are less important than year 10 :p)

    Mc Q14: Aas

It's D. Significant figure is not to be underestimated. And if you forgot to round off your calculation to the least accurate data for short answer section, the marker will take one mark for that too. Believe me. Reason? Like sja has stated above:

    Band 5 & 6 Cutoffs?

I heard last year was 81 for band 6. Remember guys/girls, they always mark really harshly for chemistry according to my teacher (20 years experience of marking HSC Chemistry).

Chemistry - general thoughts on the exam

Question 17 part b isn't it? I got pH=2 somehow. Anyway, the test is good I think. People think it was easy but when you look at the details, it wasn't really that easy.

    OK, here's mine with a little analysis: 1. C (Catalytic Cracking... duh... no alliteration intended) 2. A (Obvious) 3. B (Other choices have unstable one; stable H is 1,1) 4. C (Calculate it) 5. B (only 4 isomers guys: 1,1; 1,2; 1,3; 2,2 - the others are mirror of those) 6. B (Condensation...
