    clerkship applications

all those long hours of studying and stressing all those long hours writing applications begging firms to consider me all that time spent on events, and money spent on stockings (which - aside - only eva last for one wear - if you're lucky) ... PAID OFF!!!! I'm going to be clerking...

clever boy, moral rights is the easy one - man oh man do i wish i'd picked that. it's a bit late to be reading articles now though, considering i've also got this other thing to get done. looks like i'm stuck with idea/expression dichotomy, at least until i can get someone to brain me with a table.

Help help help arrhhh this stupid idea/expression dichotomy paper is due wednesday, and i can't believe how frigging stupid i was to choose this question - i so do not understand it - i don't get the computer cases so i don't get how to differentiate them from the literary works, i don't get...

i think the main thing in this assignment is to not overthink it - alot of info we've covered won't be relevant to the questions
  6. S

    bizorgs + ip

i didn't mention it - where do you think it's relevant?

don't worry too much about it - yes it's a small part of the act, and as much of it appears to be untested it's basically about applying the statute to the facts. i seriously spent ages trying to work out ways to supplement it, but ultimately this area of law remains unclear - which makes it...

aww sweetie it's ok the estate part's the only one i think that's really throwing people - the majority of the prob q's really just about statutory application (mostly anyway) b - i know what you mean, i was tempted to go into detail regarding sucession and shares, but ended up just saying...

my issue goes more to registration of his shares - the facts never state that they were registered, so i reckon the facts are a little unclear as to what actually happened to them - so i covered both situations ie if the shares were registered v if his proposed shares ceased to exist after his death

it's not a director - even peter never got to be one since he died before registration, and when tom and fiona have dinner fiona's referred to as his fellow director (in singular)

u'll be right sweetie it's not as hard as you think - much of it's pretty much applying statute (ie pre-incorp and crim code). there's not much case law around, at least not that i could find

i thought of u too iwr, but i also thought of a number of people i've met who have great jobs as lawyers - don't really think that one applies anymore. was great meeting you - sorry i missed u there mj, will have to play stalkies another time :( hey mj - what theories did u do to make it so...

To IWR, MJ, Good to Go, Scarecrow and other MQ law BOS'ers

it would depend upon whether i thought i could handle that number of subjects - which is completely an individual thing. if u reckon you can handle it, go for it - why finish later than you have to?

thanks sweetie, i'd love to think so but i think it's more i didn't come off so well in the interviews but... the second round totals are all now in rejections: sparke helmore, minter ellison (damn!), holding redlich, deacons (probably shouldn't have told them i spent all of first year...

    MACQ or UTS for Marketing?

as i understand it macquarie's got a particularly good reputation for business and marketing subjects. i've done a marketing degree there, and certainly some of the subjects have been very well taught - i don't know much about how the uts course is organised/reputed, although i'm sure it's very...

    clerkship applications

thanks g2g, tho i would've thought my marks were pretty suitable for sparke - they rejected three of my friends because they had 4.0s - so they thought they'd be likely to go to a bigger firm. i had an early morning interview, so i probably came off a bit vague - will blame it on the lack of...

got rejected by sparke helmore :( nobody loves me i hope i get some second round interviews - or even one - it's quite the downer to get in on your marks and booted out on your personality

assignments, aren't they fun? i'm thinking of doing 1(a) for bizorgs, idea/expression for IP - how about u guys? i may end up switching to moral rights for ip - i can't seem to get my head around the idea/expression question (especially the 'discuss the limits of protection' part). does...

i think the big firms expect you to work hard, although i don't think they're as hardcore as the americans in terms of crazy work hours
