    losing weight?

Ok at home, get rid of the junk food. That way you don't have any junk to snack on when you're at home. When you're out, go for the healthy foods. I know what you mean when you're constantly surrounded by Asians that are skinny. But most of the Asian girls look the same anyway. Wouldn't you...

    Arts (psych) exist at UNSW?

You can do a major in Psychology within an Arts degree however, this major will not give you APS accreditation and so won't let you do honours at UNSW. Therefore, the majority of students at UNSW doing psych majors are doing them though a B Science or B Adv Science (and also B Psych)...

    The official IR reform thread!

Historically, there is evidence of the high court permitting the use of the corporations power in the 1971 case of Concrete Pipes. iamaware, if the content of Industrial Relations 1A was the same as when you did it, you may have heard about this case from your lecturer.

    a few psychology questions

It's not the best of habits staying up late but it's holidays and you get into the habit of it. If you were contemplating Business/Law at UTS, have you considered Law/Science at UNSW (or other unis)? Alternatively, if you have an interest in marketing, have you considered Commerce/Science at...

    a few psychology questions

Hi Fat_Penguin, what degree are you hoping to do? Ok, here's what you probably or should know already: To become a practising psychologist, you need to enrol in an APS accredited degree with a major in Psych. This consists of 3 years plus 1 honours year. After honours you pursue masters or a...

B Soc Science vs B Arts

Silver Persian- the diff b/t Arts and Social Science is that in Social Science, there is a core program which you must follow. You are also limited in the list of majors you can choose from. Arts on the otherhand has no core program. You can do 1 or 2 majors. Also, you can do a language as a...

    UTS v UWS

At UNSW, Social Science has core subjects and the list of majors on offer is restricted to those considered as Social Science e.g sociology, politics, policy studies, economics just to name a few. Unsw Arts- there's more flexibility in choosing majors. A significant difference is that you...

    The official IR reform thread!

I think you mean "employees"? I can think of 1 industry in which employers are able to 'recover' the costs of superannuation. Going off on a tangent here but with the issue of responsibility over super, the question arises of who should bear the costs of it i.e the Govt, employers, or the...

Transfer to uts law still possible?

Read the sentence again. Note the word "hypothetically" :) . Anyway, good luck with the transfer! And if it doesn't work out, if you really want to study law there's always post-grad as an option

    Pyschology at unsw

Actually, I'm almost certain they've changed the requirements of honours. In heard they've increased the average to 70% however Stormstormstorm you might want to check it out first to be certain. Depends what you want to do. Just because you major in psych, that doesn't mean you'll be doing...

Differences between USYD and UNSW for B Comm

Biscuit/Freshtire, both uni's have strong reputations for their Commerce degrees. It really depends what you want to do. Just remember however that if you want to major in Actuarial Studies, you need to go to Macquarie or UNSW for that. UNSW may however have a slight edge when it comes to...

Australia tobacco free in 20 years

Well maybe the rate of tax is set to take into account costs associated for those affected by passive smoking

    The official IR reform thread!

A couple of things. There's a lot more to economics than what's taught in high school. Are you in high school? If not, have u studied any 2nd yr or above econ subjects at uni? THere are other schools of economic thought, other theories which seek to tackle unemployment. I'm not saying they're...

    Liberal control of the Senate

Well like I said, some are taking traineeships in retail which involve studying and working at the same time. Does it matter that the work they're undertaking is in retail and not in a trade? Who's to say that you can make money in retail or that retail doesn't involve long working hours...

    Liberal control of the Senate

Out of curiosity do u work for one of the Coles Myer companies or a Woolworth's company? I briefly worked for a coles myer company and there were ppl of all ages working there. There were a few ppl I met and were taking a traineeship there whilst studying with the support of Coles Myer...

    The official IR reform thread!

Yes it makes sense to allow for both collective and individual agreements (as is shown in the current system). From what I read in that article, collective agreements will still be allowed so long as the employer agrees to them. Sorry, i'm not sure if that answers your question :(
