    Transferring to Wharton

The Wharton rule is that you can't have done more than 1 year at a foreign uni before transferring. If you are eligible, you will be in a very competitive process for transfer entry into UPenn (and Wharton specific). Don't expect exchange to give you any significant advantage.

Out of these two "qualifications" which is more highly likelly to INVESTMENT BANKING.

Re: Out of these two "qualifications" which is more highly likelly to INVESTMENT BANK As I explained before. Investment banking division is seperate of the retail banking portion. So there is no such thing as the investment banking division of a retail bank. Just like Chase Bank and Citibank...

Out of these two "qualifications" which is more highly likelly to INVESTMENT BANKING.

Re: Out of these two "qualifications" which is more highly likelly to INVESTMENT BANK Your immaturity is humorous. I explained the concept of retail banks + investment banking division quite clearly. ANZ colloquially is the retail bank portion just like Bank of America colloquially is the...

    Combined Commerce

Depending on the company, it's usually less than 1%. The hourly pay may not be the best but it adds up. When you buy a meal, car or a house, do you pay by the hour? And assuming you only use those facilities with "full time hours with no overtime". Pretty sure you pay in absolute figure terms...

    Combined Commerce

I think colloquially investment banking refers to IBD/M&A, not Sales and Trading or any Markets side business. All the Markets side people I know wouldn't refer themselves as "investment bankers" but they work in an investment bank.

BIG 4 CADETSHIP for investment banking/ RBA intern?

And also to note is that I think RBA only takes Honours or PhD students for their internship program.

BIG 4 CADETSHIP for investment banking/ RBA intern?

I've seen quite a few people on cadetships managing to slot in IB internships in penultimate year so it should be no trouble at all. Shouldn't breach your contract. It sure helps to have some work experience on your resume. But you absolutely need to have good marks and take part in ECs. I've...

BIG 4 CADETSHIP for investment banking/ RBA intern?

It's a definite plus to have the cadetship for IB and RBA. Do note they both require high marks so you need to maintain your grades at a high level and don't get complacent with your studies. Your best bet for IB is an internship first. It's very hard to get a grad position without IB...

Working in Hong Kong in the future?

Probably because to apply to those HK positions from Aus, you mostly need to be able to speak Mandarin. I assume with 70 WAM, they are not doing a straight Commerce degree and have very good work experience/ECs otherwise they wouldn't have made the cut to interviews. Work experience and ECs can...

Working in Hong Kong in the future?

Depends on company and industry. What are you looking at? Either recruit directly to HK or recruit in Australia and hope to transfer to HK at a later date. Visa depends on company policy but if they are willing to recruit you from Australia, they will sponsor visa.

what is a good combination among these commerce majors?

Re: can you do master of commerce at UNSW in "1year" if you done B.comm No. It's designed for Business graduates.

    statistics major or actuarial

You will use very little to none of ACTL for Sales and Trading. Stats perhaps if you incorporate it into your trading strategy but you will always need economics to analyse the market. This is of course specific to S&T. As I said, unless you want to become an Actuary, don't do ACTL.
  13. R

    statistics major or actuarial

Forget ACTL for Sales and Trading. If anything maybe Stats but even that's limited. Do Economics or something for S&T.
  14. R

    statistics major or actuarial

Don't do Actuarial unless you want to be an actuary. You'll want the highest WAM possible to seek a job and ACTL subjects will kill your WAM. They aren't even that helpful for Finance jobs.

    UNSW Bcomm or BComm/ECO??????

3 Years BComm, 4 Years BComm/Eco. You have the same workload per semester but you just do 1 more year of it if you do Comm/Eco.

Need Extension 2 Maths for B.Commerce/Science (Adv. Mathematics) UNSW???

Which means there's little diversification benefit. ;)

Out of these two "qualifications" which is more highly likelly to INVESTMENT BANKING.

Re: Out of these two "qualifications" which is more highly likelly to INVESTMENT BANK Mate, don't get distracted! Haha Comm/Law is harder to HD in. With a BComm degree, there's a strong need for a good mark. So keep working! Good luck with exams ;).

    What is investment banking?

Should report to ABS to add another box for hours to accomodate investment banking people.

    What is investment banking?

Yes overall, especially if you are looking to be internationally mobile or working in the Asian region. Bigger market, bigger bank presence. It's more intense in Hong Kong too (not too sure looking at Newbie's free time haha). Compensation wise, Australia slightly beats out HK but that's...
