I thought VIII was okay too, except that magic was obsolete in it. You only use a few spells, and the rest you just use for junctioning. I think it's still better than IX though...I'm finding it so hard to play through it, there's no story!

I don't think Colin will die, he's not exactly a significant character (is he?). Cedric was rather random but at least he and Harry were friends of some sort, so it still had a deep effect on him and impacted on the whole story.

Eddings is great. I love the Elenium, Diamond Throne might seem boring but the series gets better. Compared to the first two books, the 3rd one (Sapphire Rose) is a bit long though. Now that HSC is over and I have jack all to do i might start reading these books again, they're very good.
