Software Engineering, UNSW vs USYD ?????????

Hey I have a question about first year seng (which I plan to do next year). I noticed that I'd have to choose between higher and ordinary maths and computing 1A/B. Since "higher" subjects would obviously be harder, is it harder to get high marks in these subjects than the standard ones as I...

What's the last game you played?

neverwinter nights... I never actually finished the original even though I played it a year ago, and I have the expansions now

    actuarial/finance co op

Well it just depends on what you want to do - I dont know much about the Finance major, but actuarial studies is heavily involved with probabilities, risk management (eg in insurance companies), and that sort of thing. You have to work out for yourself which one you think you'd like more.

    shuld i do 4u? :S

god i never did nearly that much study, even leading up to exams. And yes, I guess I'm just lucky with maths - I dont have to put in 3 hours/day to get good marks. However I was doing a lot of past papers leading up to the hsc. I guess it just depends on how lucky you are with maths as to how...

didnt get coop interview for acturarial

No of course I'm glad that I did that kind of thing - I met some great people and helped out at the same time. However, I'm just surprised that not even a gold duke of edinburghs award was enough to sway whoever was assessing the applications. I just dont know what I could have done more...

i guess its nearly official, we are all screwed

I think the wrong things are being argued about here. Yes, Bush has a "hard stance" against terrorism blah blah blah - the fact is many of the things he did Kerry quite probably would have done anyway. However where the Bush administration really sucks is its outright corruption and hypocracies...

didnt get coop interview for acturarial

meh I still have a photocopy of my application and nothing looks too bad about it (no spelling\grammatical errors). The thing is worked my god damn butt off for duke of ed - I expected that thatd be the type of thing scholarship awarders would want as I had a lot of oppurtunities to show...

    acturial studies (im in 12)

My sister did actuarial at MQ and she is non asian lol

didnt get coop interview for acturarial

no i think youd have to have an awesome application to get into the actuarial interview. I had great ranks (eg 1/103 in 3u, 2/50 in chem, 2/50 in phys, etc) on my front page, I had tonnes to write about (eg for gold duke of ed I'd helped out at an age care facility for a year, went on 4 day...

plotting the bloody TRAJECTORY of a satellite...

I assumed it went in a clockwise direction... and the satellite went in an elliptical sort of motion in transferring from the Earth's radius from the sun to the Mars distance from the sun

The 2004 HSC - Physics Paper

haha I also got a copy of the core short answer part (cause my mum is a supervisor at a different school) but I couldnt be bothered scanning it if xayma's going to.

    Co op Scholarships

Yes I'm very nervous hehe. For actuarial studies I think someone said earlier they take it down from a couple of hundred applications to around 60 for interviews... hopefully I'll get one though

    more complex numbers (need help)

wait there is a another, maybe quicker, way: (c + d)^2 = c^2 + d^2 + 2cd you have values for c^2 + d^2 and cd so you can find (c + d)^2 Then you find the square root of that using the normal way and you should have values for a + ib
  18. G

    more complex numbers (need help)

haha they cant do that (kick someone back to 3u). for i) say the roots are c and d c^2 + d^2 = 8, cd=3i solve these simultaneously to get values for the roots, from which you can work out a and b. But maybe theres a quicker way...

    multiple choice

erm but the frame of reference is accelerating not "sticking to the speed limit" in this case. However, I still believe the answer is B even though I put D
  20. G

    multiple choice

well... yeah. but thatll be a few months away unfortunately =\
