    ew :/ I have 6h without a break.

How do they mark the roll in tut classes?

This. I've always found that "Hi, I'm Sam" has always worked for me. Just start some light chit chat, not everyone will be friend material, but atleast you have people to chat with during tutes and don't sit there in silence.

Readings for tutes are sooo boring as usual.

    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2010)

65% of undergrads in 2008 were from north/eastern suburbs. interesting. This College of the Arts and Sciences just sounds strange.

    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2010)

Betsi Beem is one peculiar lecturer. Tried to spend most of the lecture trying to convince us to drop her lecture. Then for the first time ever for me in a government subject, there was a roll call at a lecture. Which was great cause 45% of the class was not even there.

Chill! You can print from those computers as many times as you like. No idea about whether your timetable has been changed though, guess you won't know unless you look.

can you borrow core subject textbooks from the library for the whole semester?

Yeah, usually core textbooks are in the reserve :(. You can always try photocopying important pages/chapters? There are no other copies? Sometimes there are extra copies floating around the library.

    Who else can't find work?

SpoonSamba, your experience is very similar to mine. I got my admin officer/telephonist position at my hospital through my mum as well. She found out about it and told me to apply, I didn't think I'd get cause I had no hospital experience. But because they were so understaffed and I was willing...

    Massive bookshop queue

Or incase you end up changing subjects which I did this week. Besides first tutes are pointless get to know each other rubbish anyways.

STUDENTS OF LAW - conservative or leftist?

What does 'very mis-guided' translate to in regards to political mindset
  11. KarmaKitten

can you borrow core subject textbooks from the library for the whole semester?

Depends. Is the textbook in the Reserve section? Then no. Is it in the short loans sections? Then you will have to return it weekly and hope nobody else gets it and then re-borrow it. But if its in the research section, you usually get 8 weeks, and as long as nobody else requests it, you can...

    Uni Cheap Eats Guide

No idea if Newtown Thai or Thai-La-Ong have been mentioned in this thread. But both are very close to Sydney Uni and both offer $6 lunch deals. Huge servings, be prepared for queues though. However if you plan to get takeaway its not so bad. Max brenner isn't too far away from USYD, but if...

Can't wait for attendance numbers to start dwindling. There are queues for everything. too many people everywhere. Bring on the dwindling.

    manning bar & hermanns

You're more likely to be asked when buying alcohol rather than when you're entering, especially during the day. I'm assuming its different if you go there on a Thursday or Friday night as bars/clubs always tend to be more anal on I.D on these nights. Probably just get your friends to buy you...

    Another law dropout >.<

I'd say most readings in any subject would be quite dull and most assessments upon initial glance look confronting. You get the hang of it sooner or later, just focus on researching early and breaking assessments into parts. So that would definitely not be a good reason to drop out of law...
