    how about Speaking EXAM

Having done 2U and 3U I wasn't nervous at all in my job interview - I just thought to myself "Hey! It's in English! How hard can it be? :p" I think most of the good advice has already been said - you need to be spontaneous but also have a core of solid sentences and delaying phrases to fall...

    french ext

Extension isn't interactive, it's basically a prepared speech - get your general points on poverty etc ready and spit them out inthe most appropriate order once you're inthe room :).

    Law Information Night

Some of us are cowards, as unanimously voted by fellow law students, and refuse to get in the sumo ring ;) There was free beer, Tooheys New, but the queue for tokens was really long and I don't usually drink that stuff even at law drinsk where it's free and plentiful.

    Direction of gravity in Projectile

If gravity is acting downwards in the context of your problem, yes :). You might have to change things if you have memorised formulae that make asumptions about vectors...but as you have to prove everything in this topic IIRC just go through carefully and logically :). At worst, just do...

    Direction of gravity in Projectile

Define the postitive direction yourself at the beginning of the question. Sometimes it's easier to do it one way than the other, so be prepared to change if necessary :).

    Arts Advanced

Given more time and money (well, mostly a hell of a lot more money), I'd take the American route :).

    getting above 99.5+

    No way...they were all 100s, .95s I think. I must have been 15th-20th.

    getting above 99.5+

99.85 No...not even close :p. But I did well in the important ones. I was only in the top ten for French and French Extension IIRC. Yes. 6-8. But it all depends on how efficiently you work, what mix of subjects you have... If you want to get ahead, you'll hard to work harder...

Do we need to know complex ions?

It's in chem of art, I did a lot of work on those last year. I don't think they really come up anywhere else. Contexts has a great Chem of Art chapter :)

No problem :) Feel free to post anything you're confused or even just a little doubtful about, it's much better than staying ignorant :).

    Textbook

I think you're exaggerating a little - some questions are out of date, some are not. There is more to doing textbook questions that preparing for exams - some are written specifically to reinforce your understanding of the material, so they may be primarily learning tools rather than assessment...

What cation / anion tests must we know?

See attached document. Much less than what me and spice girl had to do last year, you lucky buggers :p

    Haber Process - balance

Increasing the pressure forces the equilibrium to the right by Le C's principle as the reactants have four times the volume of the products. It's expensive to do so I think, so you have to do a cost-benefit analysis... edit: clearly I can't read  My notes, from Pathways IIRC...

    quick relativity question

I think you are extremely confused about the idea of frames of reference . The speed of light is constant, it is c relative to everything . That is the point of Einstein's theory of Relativity. There is no absolute point of reference. The spacecraft sees the light going away at c. No...

    space dot point

IIRC you do have to relate this to the Earth - you should add that the Earth isn't of uniform density so you might encounter variations in the strength of the gravitational force as a result (e.g. stronger over very dense part), the Earth isn't a perfect sphere (flattened at poles and bulging at...

    yr 11 subject selections

I can't remember whether they are courses developed by the BOS or not, but there are category A and Category B courses. Most courses are A, the courses in B are vocational like Hospitality etc. You can only count 2 units of B in your UAI I think, so you'll be ineligible if you don't have 8+...
