They have now changed the structure of the core for Commerce and Economics degrees for 2010. Your going to have to do maths subjects no matter if you choose commerce or economics. In commerce you still have to do QMB which is even more of a bitch than QMA, so no escape from those maths and stats...

pretty sure that UNSW, USYD, MACQ is generally 5, UTS is up to 10, and UWS id up to 15 if ur living in the greater western sydney region. they usually give u the max (especially if ur reason was financial difficuly and your evidence was centrelink payments and confirmation from centrelink).

Economics @ UNSW is a hard course, especially since core is changing in 2010, commerce now has an easier core and more flexability. if ur good at maths ull do reali well especially for QMA/QMB, and also in later econometrics subjects, so if ur not that flash at maths consider architecture.

Usually EAS doesn't come into play unless u achieve a minimum ATAR of 60 if i remember correctly. Hope for 60, and if you get it, UTS gives 10 bonus points (others give 5), take ur rank to 70 which gives u a decent shot a some courses. Also, at UWS u can get up to 15 extra marks when u add up...
