What is your all time favourite book?

Thankyou for appreciating my list :) Really? I used to work in a bookshop, and the owner told me that little piece of information about Emily Rodda/Lian Hearn... How awful that she was misled! And how embarrassing for me... oh well. Thankyou for enlightening me :)

Lol. As a matter of fact, yes it was you that told me. Thanks Horse :) Lulz... you're teasing me right now about my red coat. Thanks.

2007ers - What do you want to do after the HSC?

Lol, thanks ari89... hopefully I'll get my 83. And hopefully I'll get higher, too. That sounds like such a good plan. And I've looked at the Communications courses at UTS, they look fantastic! I thought about doing the Writing and Cultural Studies, or Social Inquiry, and I was definitely...

    Getting into history ext!

Oh no! I have been, too! I guess I just assume that everything is recent  My apologies. I agree, that many people assume yr 11 counts for nothing so they don't bother trying. And if people aren't capable of Ext, they drop out in a few weeks anyway... so I don't think it's that big a deal.

2007ers - What do you want to do after the HSC?

B Ancient History (Hon)- Macquarie :) I know I'll get the UAI, which is somewhat of a relief. I want to travel as much as I can during breaks. I considered taking a gap year, but I'm already travelling this year and don't think it's necessary... I really want to be an archaeologist, so...

    MetalHeads Are Intelligent!

Hmmm... this is quite an interesting topic to think about. Dance music... I don't "listen" to it per se, but at dances/discos, etc., I really enjoy that kind of music... There's something about it that helps me to relax and have fun, and destress. I go to a selective school, and I find that so...

    speech, feedback please.

Yes! I heard that story too, about the helium balloons! A friend told me on Friday, right before we did our speeches. Note: steer clear of using Imagine by John Lennon, in any aspect. My teacher told me that it's guaranteed at least 5000 students use it every year. But yes, I agree with emca...

    Cyteen (Spec. Fic)

Oh! How perfect for Spec Fic! See, I've never heard of it before. And that's the text we're NOT using. We've done The Handmaid's Tale, and just finished Lord of the Rings. We've done a lot on our own additional material in the meantime. And we're starting Dune when we go back next term (the next...

    Easiest subject

I think it definitely depends on the person. I find Advanced English, and probably Extension 1 also, very easy. And Ancient History... yes, there's a huge amount of content, but it comes really easily to me. So I think it's personal, whatever suits you. I know if I was doing Maths and Sciences...

What is your all time favourite book?

Lol! I like you, jhakka. And I agree, it's cool seeing the huge variety... Just wondering though, has anyone else read anything by Jostein Gaarder? I didn't see anyone reply with a 'favourite book' by him :mad1: That makes me feel sad.

    speech, feedback please.

You definitely need to acknowledge the audience more. It's never been a big deal for us, up until Friday when we had speeches on Imaginative Journeys. The biggest problem was students saying "Good morning" and "Thankyou" at the beginning and end, and just reading out an essay. Could you put in a...

Gosford! Yay! Hello Horseypie... lulz. I wonder who you could be... heh. I'm still trying to figure out who Shortbread is. I'm wondering if it's Pat S? Enlighten me. Life of Pi

hello! i just did an assessment task (speech) on imaginative journeys, using the ivory trail (bos stimulus booklet) and life of pi. although i found heaps of information on the book itself, i found that linking it to journeys could only be done through my own knowledge of the text. if its any...

What is a good related text for imaginative journeys?

buzzcut! i know its you, ben.tis emma here.are you in top boys?because encouraging you to use a poem sounds very much like a woman who goes by the name of... mrs stevens. we had a speech on friday for imaginative journeys, and i used life of pi as my additional material.it works well :)

    Competitions

I had no idea that UNSW ran a Financial Literacy Comp... but this is probably because I live in my own world, and that world doesn't include anything remotely mathematical. Someone said that being the 100th percentile may not necessarily mean you come first overall, because it could be rounded...
