    Vcom

~VCOM UPDATE~ Just thought I'd let you all in on a very disturbing event that we witnessed today. Today, VCOM, our friend and educator... STOPPED WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't know how, we don't know why. All we know is when we raced down the corridors this morning to say hello, VCOM...

    Vcom

Yes, yes it does...the colours are meant to 'stimulate our minds'. We've got coloured stripes in our stairwells as well, and there's a rumour that a guy was paid thousands to come up with the colour scheme of our school (Every block has a different colour allocated to it. quite patronising...

Do you think the average Australian hates America/ns and if so why?

It's a common steryotype that americans are selfish, self-centred and stupid...and while this obviously isn't true for all americans, all steryotypes are based on some fact...

    Reading room suggestions

I think genre split up is a good idea (would group together people of the same interests and hopefully produce more posts), but I also think subfolders for the big title books and series (ie: harry potter), would be an easy way to stop a lot of the clutter. Anyway, that's just me...

Big readers - what was the book that got you really into reading?

    Vcom

After coming back to school three weeks ago, I discovered, to my disbelief, that the executives had installed TV's along our main school corridors. This TV system (affectionately called VCOM) was to deliver messages to the students as they walked down the corridors. Good in theory. But after Day...

    Healthy School Canteen

yeh, our school's phased this in, but everyone's now going to the fish & chips place up the road :) I don't think they really thought it through for high-schools...if they offered a wide variety of healthy foods (rices, pastas, toasted sandwitches, etc) i'd be alright, but all we have are...

    selling child on ebay

did anyone watch the interview of ACA? The women seriously had no idea. She said she wanted to do it so she could give her child a better future, but when asked about the implications of being named after a brand (morally and ethically), she didn't have any answers about the child's...

    Nuclear North Korea

If the US made a public display of destroying their stockpiles and other countries with nuclear capabilities were pressured into doing the same, then wouldn't the global pressure and trend against nuclear lead to even North Korea into disarming?!? (on second thoughts, prob not...)

Schapelle Corby - Innocent or Gulity?

yeh, she was really suss and didn't sound definate about anything (and kept looking to the left)...i do feel sorry for her though..death for such a (seeminly) trivial thing...

Schapelle Corby - Innocent or Gulity?

Chapelle Corby was the girl arrested last year in Bali for drug smuggling. She currently being trialed, and if she's found guilty the prosecutors have warned they will be seeking the maximum penalty - death by firing squad. For anyone's who's been following the story, she reckons she was set-up...

    Parents Choosing Subjects

6 periods of maths a week seems insane..especially if you're not enjoying it... I'm doing 2U maths purely because of my parents, but we made a compromise that if i still wasn't enjoying/doing well at maths by end of yr11, I could drop it.

    Summary Books ?!?

I wouldn't bother getting any study guides for prelims...they're expenisve ($30-$40) and not that great. Year 11 only goes for three terms and your marks aren't part of your HSC results, so why waste your money? We had people from Excel come to our school to try and sell us study guides and...
  19. [trent]

started yr11... shud i use folders now or wat?

Folders are great...except for when you put them down at the bus stop and forget to pick them up and subsequently loose all the last two week's work!! (...not that it happened to me this arvo or anything...grr...)
  20. [trent]

How much free periods do you have?

None in Year 11, but term 4 i'll have 8 per week (i'm currently doing accelerated business studies which will finish in term 3...ahh HSC!!!)
