eh? harder to break?? glassware?? maybe i read wrong.. no... how on earth do u find glassware hard to break? =P (remembers how she broke three test tubes in one day... separately) =P

lol... this is sounding interesting =)

    Origins of halons and CFCs

well.. halons have been banned for a while.. u ever seen a yellow fire extinguisher? =P but i guess the syllabus is asking for it =P

    the shipwrecks q *again.. ^^

thanks shannon~~!!!!!!!!! =D *much happier* ND... the metals are in a beaker. the copper wouldn't corrode.

    the shipwrecks q *again.. ^^

u know how wit the acidified one, the reduction of oxygen and hydrogen ions occur (E=1.23V).. which i guess is implying that this reaction is preferred over the reduction of O2 and H2o to oh- ions (e=0.40V) Does that apply for all equations.. would the galvanic cell produce max voltage...

i could've sworn i'd already replied to this... (??????) *meh. lol @ acho phys... aust chem olymp phys?? ^^ u'll have no trouble wit it.. maxwell ampere is easier than gauss ^^

    the shipwrecks q *again.. ^^

thaaannkk you.... =P so much controversy. btw.. u know how with electrolytic cells, the anode/cathode reactions will be the ones closest together on the potentials sheet.. for galvanic cells, will they be the ones furthest away? like.. if u have a galvanic cell capable of producing 2V and the...

can u put it up plz? i only have conq and the big orange one.. thickett... and oten.

    eutrophication

*rolls eyes... ^^ we have a place like ur "lowers". it's called the school oval =) when it rains.. it doubles as a swimming pool. economic huh? 2-in-1.

    the shipwrecks q *again.. ^^

soz frigid - it got too messy wit all the edits. if i have beaker with copper and iron then iron will corrode preferentialy to copper. anodic reaction: fe --> fe2+ & 2e- then the cathodic reaction will be o2 + 2h2o + 4e- --> 4oh- ? does it change if acidified?

    Common reactions and there products

catalytic cracking long-chained alkane --> shorter chained alkanes + ethene/propene (zeolite catalyst) steam cracking alkane (eg ethane) --> ethene + h2 u should know specifically; fermentation, synthesis of ammonia, hydration/dehydration of ethene, polymerisation, ionisation of acids...

    eutrophication

well.. it becomes land in a few million years or so? =P it's not like ur gonna have a lake and a couple of years you come back and it's not there anymore....

but aren't the electrons on diatomic oxygen paired? edit: i've jus realised the futility of defying phenol... lol ^^ would u please explain for us then? =) hehe..
  15. +:: $i[Q]u3 ::+

    eutrophication

yep =) even if ur definitions vary a bit.. they should basically be pretty much the same... meh. u know what i mean. - increase in nutrients esp nitrates/phosphates. - excessive growth of algae (algal blooms) - algae die, and when they decay. deplete the water of oxygen. - water is left...

    Chem Dp Help~ \(^0^")/ <----gay

argh.. i dunno how to separate out the quotes.. =P oh well. 1. A single oxygen atom in its lowest energy state is said to be in its ground state. When UV splits diatomic oxygen, the resulting free radicals have unpaired electrons. These radicals are in a higher energy state than ground state...

    Summary contest

i doubt a contest would be the right word for it... haha... most of us have taken info straight out of conq or whatever textbook ur using.. it'd be a rehash of the same info again and again in different word formats depending on ur particular taste. besides, there r ppl who write their notes ^^
