    3 sciences or just 2?

Browse over the HSC Physics Course. If it interests you, I'd suggest to study Physics. If not, remain with the two you have now.

How much work should have be done during these holidays.

During these holidays, I've broken my 'vow' to not attempt anything school related by... Reading my English Advanced text.As for the rest, including my issued assessment tasks over the holidays, I will continue to procrastinate enormously before I start them.

does ANYBODY enjoy their text for english?

Overall, I don't think I really enjoy any of the set HSC poems. This may change, though.

Overall, my subjects are OK. However, I would make the following changes... 1. Chose Chemistry also... 2. Studied Japanese Continuers and perhaps Extension. 3. Studied Mathematics + Mathematics Extension 1 over General Mathematics.
  11. M

    Standard or Advanced English???

No question, select English Advanced >>> Standard. I didn't bother reading if you have or not, so it remains my recommendation. For English Advanced... 1. Learn techniques and their impacts. 2. It isn't hard. 3. You don't even need to read the text entirely to score well. 4. Use quotes to...

    Trouble memorising notes

It is true as stated above...when you are attempting to teach / explain a concept / idea to someone else, you have a greater understanding of the content itself. Perhaps you could try that. I see you do Biology and Physics, personally I don't believe they require too many notes, even for the...

    Dreadful HSC start

I also performed relatively poor. However, don't allow performing worse than you expected cause you to become apathetic and lazy with the work. If you focus now and amend your mistakes, you will begin to feel better again with your results, and see that the first assessment tasks aren't worth...

You should be fine. You just need to focus on your future assessments. It is true what others have posted, you can do bad in one assessment but still do very well in the end.
