    What's happening to your notes?

Are you burning them? Shredding them? Flushing them down the toilet? Feeding them to the dogs? Typing them up and putting them on BOS Resources?

does anyone else have random songs in their head during exams??

"Fix You" by Coldplay. And it sucks cos I really wanna do an air guitar solo when that instrumental part comes up. Sigh. The restraints of the HSC on movement are just too much...

When you finish you last exam you are....

I am going to cry and hug someone. Go out and celebrate by overeating with my boyfriend. BURN ALL MY NOTES!!!!!!!!!! MWAHAHAHA! (actually I'm thinking about typing them up and putting them on BOS Resources or something.) Then after that, going to a beachfront house and just relaxing...

doing an "all nighter" - studying all night

All nighters are horrible, horrible, horrible. I used to think that I could cope well with them. I think my first one was in Year 11 (hahaha) for an assessment task. The next day I couldn't even think straight, but what the hell, I finished my work! My last one (which was this year) I...

what courses are ppl doing at uni?

B Education/B Arts (Secondary: Humanities and Social Sciences). In other words, I'm gonna learn how to teach English and History to high school kids like ourselves so that I could mess their minds up ('In The Wild' and 'Retreat From The Global', anyone?). It's 83.15 and I think I could get...

what irritates you in the HSC exams?!?!

For a few years now (and I kid you not), in every exam we could hear someone's Dukes of Hazzard horn beeping outside. That annoys the hell out of me. Plus how some people could only concentrate when they're playing beats with their hands on the table. Argh.

Who does not give a rats ass abt the HSC? =P

Whoa, so many people being mean to TAFE... Like sarsh said, I think a lot of you are over-generalising TAFE and its students. Believe it or not, there are people in TAFE who want to succeed in life... they just weren't lucky enough to get the UAI's they needed, and they want to do better...

Comfort food... what eases your studying?

Ooh, you all have to try this... Vanilla marshmallows (huge ones) smeared with loads of Nutella. *drools*

Comfort food... what eases your studying?

Eat... eat... eat... ahh, how would we survive without it? I've been drinking so much coffee it's not funny!!!!! Plus I've been eating a lot of chips and sweet stuff which I swear is gonna make a huge impact after everything in my body has settled down to normal (i.e. sleep patterns, weight...

    Hows your room?

Some of you people are lucky to have a desk... my desk is located in a place where I could literally hear everything going on in the house (at the moment it's that bloody woman from Today Tonight... argh she's so annoying)... so then I have to study on my bed, which is, despite what that...

    2005 HSC-Harder than previous

I reckon it's actually been pretty easy, but I think that's because we have greater access to notes and things than perhaps anyone else before us. Keep in mind that the Journeys module is pretty new... only a few years ago everyone was doing Change. We now have more to study and learn from in...

Module B The tragedy of King Lear

Hmmm, what did I do again... I spoke of the balance between power/powerlessness (some good textual references) and how it was really relevant in Shakespeare's time cos of the whole natural order thing... and also how it's still relevant to our own context because heaven knows how much...

For those Ex 1 students who cant burn english texts till monday 31st

Usually just two. I'm doing Shipping News and Heaney's poetry. I really wanted to do The Castle but yeah... I think poetry and prose are better for the responses we're expected to come up with.

The more i hear about f' ups...

It's horrible, but I do feel the same way.

    SMH Article on Paper 2

Argh, I hate Today Tonight and A Current Affair. Even my little brother, who's 11, calls it a "whingeing show" (apologies if I misspelt 'whingeing'). They're perfect to pick on for 'Telling The Truth'.

    Did you finish?

I've got smallish writing... and I wrote nearly full booklets for all of them... except for Module C. But I did have introductions and conclusions for everything. So go me.
  17. D

Did you mention productions in King Lear?

The issues and themes that I discussed were about the struggle between power and powerlessness (which connected to Lear's irrationality as both king and father) and the balance of male and female/patriarchy and feminism. For the power/powerlessness one, I discussed just the text, with heaps...

    extra time in exams

With people with disabilities and dyslexia, I guess it's totally understandable... what I totally don't understand is this girl getting extra time just cos she wrote slow...
