this is good advice. i'll add that for most first years, you'll need to do only 'junior' courses, which at usyd and most other unis are the ones which have a 1 at the start of their numeric code. so ANHS1600 is a junior unit because of the '1', while ANHS2614 or ANHS3609 are upper-level units...

no idea, haven't seen or heard any mention of it since the building opened. not even sure if it's USU property or if the uni will be leasing it out directly.

i hate that a year after it opened, there's still no cafe in the new law school.

can people specify what uni they're going to when they ask these types of question? the enrolment processes differ substantially from uni to uni so it's hard to help out unless we get more details.

yep. once you enrol in a course, you're guaranteed your spot, unless you choose to withdraw from it later.

yep. at usyd accepting the offer just means rocking up to enrolment day and enrolling.

The roman numeral indicates what year you're in. I is first year, II is second year, etc etc

maybe there'll be a vacancy in the late round, maybe not. because the unis accept a fairly small number of people for law, it's impossible to predict with any certainty whether there'll be enough places available in the next round for you to get into it. you'll just have to wait and hope...

i think you're interpreting that right. the studio thing is designed as a full-day subject, so you have a lecture in the morning and then spend the afternoon doing practical design stuff, with an hour's break for lunch. that isn't common for most subjects, but architecture is an unusual course...

you should put these sorts of questions in the forum for the uni you'll be going to, cause it varies a bit from uni to uni. o-week happens in the week before lectures start (at my uni, usyd, it's 24-26 february this year) and is basically a chance for first years to get to know the facilities...

didn't they release timetables early last year? i swear i remember them coming out a week before o-week, but maybe i'm just hallucinating. anyway, if you're really interested then you can go onto the timetable website and look up the schedules for your units of study, although first years won't...

i like it. edit: as with any rebrand of any company or organisation, people will hate it and complain about it for the first few weeks because it's unfamiliar, and then they'll get used to it and wonder what all the fuss was about. cf. the refresh of the qantas logo a couple of years ago

yeah it probably is. as part of the overhaul of parental income tests etc etc there are probably concessions for families with more than one child at uni. however, the reforms have not passed the senate (because the coalition and independents have come up with the idea that they disadvantage...
