NOD32 i.e. ESET is what i'm using at the moment. Can return a few false positives, but doesn't hog many resources at all; very fast to run (being written mostly in assembly and all).

woo hoo, finished coding up my ISYS project. i should've picked a better group: 3 arts students, 2 guys who haven't gotten past first year programming and...me, so i picked up the bulk of programming tasks (read-> all programming tasks).

The seymour centre has a few practice rooms but i'd imagine they'll be harder to book and i think you'd have to pay for their use.
