    ionic equations

What about when you have a reaction between a weak acid and a weak base, and you want to write the net ionic equation. The example I'm thinking of is, NH3 + CH3COOH --> NH4+ + CH3COO- So in this case would there be no difference between the net and the full ionic equations? Or would you...

    Tutoring on resume?

Go ahead and put it on your resume, no one's going to stop you. Having heard of some of the stuff that people put on their resume's that they supposedly do, your case is in some ways even funny. You actually do this tutoring, whereas you get a lot of people that put big things on their resumes...

    Problems with Syllabus

When they took out the 15% of the syllabus last October they also for some reason changed all the reference of C2H4 from ethene to ethylene. In an exam I don't think it would matter which one you use (at least I hope it doesn't). It might be an idea to move this thread...

By buso's do you mean Bulmer or something else?

    World Bank & IMF

Would it be fair to say that World Bank lends out money for projects the country chooses to perform out of their own reasoning (and projects that they don't neccessarily need to perform), whereas the IMF provides funding to countries that are in financial crisis and in effect don't have much of...

Module A "in the wild" is anybody actually doing this?

I've got to say that sounds interesting though. Never heard of anything like this in English though. I guess full credit to your English department, but it does sound kinda hard too. Anyway good luck.

Who else is doing King Lear?

Oh that guy. Of course! How can you not know him! Does he also have eyes and a mouth? You gotta love Lano and Woodley! Whose actually seen that episode when they are in the video store and they're like "Have you got the video with that guy, you know the guy with the nose, and the mouth and the...

    Q. circle geometry

Oh yeah of course it's max/min. It must be the lateness that I ain't thinking straight. Ezzy, the questions are from Cambridge 3U Year 12, circle geo chapter, both extensions. First one 9A and second one 9C.

    Help. Australia's Inflation Record?

Bulmer definately goes further than both Riley and Dixon, and it doesn't usually cover the basic stuff, including definitions and the like. It has heaps of tables and graphs. But often when we ask our teacher about something from Bulmer he's like "ah...you don't need to know about it, don't...

    States in chemical equations

That makes it easier. What I was also wondering was, if you leave out all the states does that mean everything is aqueaous? I remember someone mentioning that to me, but they didn't sound to sure.

I guess that means I've also got to learn my solubility rules. Never was a fan of them. Thanks.

    Q. circle geometry

Re: Re: Q. circle geometry I don't quite follow aspects of your solution... What do you use to get the above? For some reason I keep getting a= {nsin(2pi/n}/pi With the second I think I understand it, what is the purpose of taking the derivative? Otherwise thank you very much for...

    laz seeker

In your opinion is Ozseek that useful. Having had a look at the site just then, I would say that this is miles better (albeit I don't have access to the member section in Ozseek). It seems that most of the stuff on there can also be found on here, apart from Lazseeker.

    Fave author?

I'm a fan of Grisham. Read most of his stuff. Speaking of him though, what's the story behind the Gingerbread Man, because the movie is all like "John Grisham's..." but I've never actually seen this book, nor any other references with it and Grisham.

    Q. circle geometry

I've got two questions, (1) An n-sided regular polygon is inscribed in a circle. Let the ratio of the perimeter of the polygon to the circumference of the circle be p:1, and let the ratio of the area of the polygon to the area of the circle be a:1. Find expressions of p and a as functions of...

    ionic equations

If you're asked to write a net ionic equation for the reaction between an acid and a base, what ions would you exclude? What I am referring is something like: (i) potassium oxide and sulfuric acid (ii) barium hydroxide solution and nitric acid.

    States in chemical equations

I never noticed that either. I guess the fact that they have used (soln) and (aq) in the one equation emphasised the difference between the two. But do you think they would seriesly mark you down if you used (aq) for all solutions?
