    What are you currently Reading?

The Trial by Franz Kafka. The writing is so friggin small - I've spent about five hours reading it over the weekend and I'm still only up to about page 85. It's pretty damn good - hardly an easy read though.

Taser Incident in UCLA Library Sparks Outrage, Investigation

Whatever happened to libraries being places of quiet? The guards could've at least tasered him outside, so as not to disrupt the patrons (who go to libraries at 11:30pm...). I wanna know if this happens EVERYTIME a student fails to produce an ID. Now really, who would terrorise a library at...

    General Thoughts: Computing Studies

I finished with 53 minutes to go (I didn't check my answers) and managed to get told off four times in those 53 minutes by my "supervisor" - a random science teacher - she had issues with me reading the posters on the walls and counting the ceiling tiles.... most pointless exam ever

    General thoughts: Geography SC

oh crap. i didnt even bother using the scale coz i thought it was goofy (i didnt realise the 2.5cm = 1000km or whatever). hmmm so i put 650km my reasoning was that Australia's about 5000km long or something, and they can't be THAT far apart.... shows me to cut corners

    General Thoughts: Science SC

Re: Science SC That question was funky; I put acceleration but it doesn't relate to direction much, and a change in speed could be deceleration as well... it confused everyone I talked to

    Building Bridges? Hope, Daring?

Seems like everyone went all deep and meaningful... I went on about how it'll be a sad day when people think they can build bridges out of hope and daring. Just ranted on about how you need reinforced concrete, steel, compassion and translators to build real and diplomatic bridges... not sure if...

    English Writing Tasks

hehe in the school thingo I wrote about how the school had installed new gutters because the old ones had failed a WorkCover inspection and there was a colony of quolls living in them... and there was speculation that the girl who got dux only got it cuz her dad donated the gutters. My speech...

    Piercings and Tattoos

Re: Piercings and Tats well I got a tattoo today; it didn't actually hurt as much as I thought, but my older brother was pulling baboon faces at me (so i guess that helped me stop concentrating on the metal dragging through my skin). Yes well it's on my left wrist, it's not too sensitive...

Locational Disadvantage is when you are disadvantaged by your location - like in the outer outer suburbs of Sydney, the residents are a long way away from services such as hospitals or whatever. It comes into urban sprawl/urban consolidation a lot, I think.

    Past Paper Question

Perhaps because they are too simple? I think the Watson-Crick DNA model is seen as waay too simplified. So maybe it's just that they are good for simple problems but aren't sophisticated enough for solving actual problems...

I still don't get the egg scam. I've read Milo's little explanation of how he pulls it off many, many times - but it still doesn't click. Does it actually make sense??

    Joseph Heller

Now really, why read a book if its a chore? Of course you would't have enjoyed it if you were forcing yourself to read it. When Catch-22 was first published, The NY Times said something along the lines of "It will not be forgotten by those who can take it". Seems like you are one of those...
