uni grades...how do you improve 'em?

Wow, welcome to Macq Law :) I suggest you do a LOT of English revision before the big Law114 essay because they're MASSIVELY picky about grammar. My tutor said that I had phrasing problems, and I had a band 6 for Ext Eng I. Suggestions for good essay writing is to form a template before you...

    No more DFEE??

Yes it is. And money basically buys everything. Get used to it - work harder for the HSC or get your parents to pay the fees for you. I dont see why tax payers should when there are other things the money could be used for - like the free health care system.

    No more DFEE??

That isn't an unfair reason - thats life. Money talks, and if you don't have it and you still want a university education, the answer is simple - work harder to get a CSP spot. Abolishing DFEE just allows more people who aren't as committed to uni work in - which wastes tax payer money. Also...

You mean like those woollen cricket ones? I got my mum to knit me one so it fits perfectly. (Yeah, sounds totally attractive). Also, op-shops smell like dead people.

    The Shittest Movie Ever.

Ocean's Twelve was pretty shit - considering I enjoyed Ocean's Eleven. I mean Julia Roberts impersonating HERSELF? And failing miserably. Even the lure of Brad Pitt couldn't make me watch the Thirteenth one :(

    No more DFEE??

I don't think its a rate, they just add an extra percentage onto what you owe. I think it was 20% last year... I'm not too sure, you might have to look it up.

anyone been to or want to go to India

Yeah, I would hate to backpack around there - especially if I didn't know the language (which I do). Also, its safer eating the food here since you get horrible delhi belly from the restaurants. You're best bet would be to do the city thing in Mumbai...

Average cost for books per semester - 4 subjects enrolled

Unless you're doing law subjects - then it shoots up to about 120+ and it gets really hard to find second hand textbooks since most people seem to keep theirs. Buying recommended texts are a bit of a waste. Also, lots of commerce subjects don't really need a textbook - lecture notes usually...

    why are cut offs decreasing?

Okay, get this into your head - it DOESN"T matter what the quality of the course is! I'm sure there are heaps of nursing and teaching courses out there that have superb quality, and since there is lower demand for such courses and larger supply, the UAI drops down. On the other hand, you get...

    No more DFEE??

I'm tempted to argue against that, but I'm CSP - so I'll accept that statement :D (Its so hard to refrain from making an argument)

    No more DFEE??

Well, make it such that people who want to DFEE go to special DFEE universities - like BOND etc. It makes it easier for the employer to decide which student bummed out their HSC and has a rich daddy to pay for everything. On the other hand, there isn't much of a difference between DFEE and CSP...

    Laptops for Uni

Re: How helpful is a laptop at university? Yeah, laptops are really, really useful for law in that I can type up my lecture stuff, then add in the tute work and my own research. Saves writing like three sets of notes. It doesn't work for accounting though, since it has a lot of working out.
