Who are the ANU 1st year students 2004

I'm going to ANU, I got B commerce/B laws as well. Who went to PEA day yesterday? I thought it was pretty good except I missed out on the eco/commerce faculty tour. I think meeting up with other BOS members is a good idea. I'm going to Canberra alone as well and I was pretty intimidated by...

    Graphs

so as the exchange rate increases, the CAD increases? doesnt that depend on how much loss in exports is offset by the amount saved in aus dollar terms on servicing liabilities through valuation effect? in that case, i dont think you can make it into a model.

    help on external stability

external stability is probably the hardest concept (to me anyway). The CAD is measured as % of GDP because economies with high GDP can afford to run larger debts eg US CAD is way bigger than Australian CAD but not a huge probalem due to the size of its economy. For trends, all you really...

    Accommodation

So exactly when is everyone putting in their application? I'm kind of worried about not getting a place and having to search for accomodation elsewhere at the last minute, falling behind on rent, selling my body for food on the streets of canberra and dying in a gutter. How do they assess you...

monetary policy + rate rise questions

i dont understand your point, are you saying a reason to control inflation (bring it down) is to increase unemployment? Because that is the principle of the phillips curve (inflation decreases, unemployment increases) and raising unemployment is generally considered to be a bad thing.
