I worked in a call centre for 3 years and found that acting like a salesperson in the interview (by my standards, you're selling yourself remember) worked really well. I would be really friendly and always talk about what I can give them as a grad/intern.
Best ways are to be really friendly...
Nah it was a phone interview at redfern, unfortunately I still have a few stages to go before I get the job.
5th interview in 2 months :( But hoping for at least 5 more :D
Good luck for your interviews. My tips are:
know your resume/cover letter well, you shouldnt have to look at it...
Finance is really a waste of time. I can comfortably say I have learnt a finance major on my own without doing a single finance course. Pick something that is harder to pick up on your own, i.e. maths or stats or maybe something interesting like a language.
Yes. If you pick UTS/Macq/UNSW/USyd, you will be fine. Study hard, get good marks, get involved with extra curriculars, and most importantly, enjoy uni. Do most of these and you'll end up with a good job and a good experience.
Im not a member of the union, I assume that means I can still work on that day and get paid for it?
If my classes are cancelled, I might aswell just get some work done.
Mining eng doesnt involve much geology when you work as one. Involves more planning and commercey stuff.
Mining engineers think they know geology but in reality they dont.
Geology is much more than just sediments, its actually quite interesting.
Yes you can. Probably around 70 average which is not hard if you are doing commerce related stuff. Should be able to transfer after a year if your marks are good enough.
For stuff like acct or finance, I dont believe there is much difference between UTS and other unis. Pick UTS if you think convenience is important. I'm sure the education standard will be fine.
Im in 3rd yr of a vanilla BSc. Never regretted it at all. Am doing honours or some grad course next year, so will be still studying, but have such a wide range of jobs I can apply for. Dont feel I will be unemployed. (but I network pretty well)
You should know better. There are no fees for PHD positions for australian residents.
If he gets 1st class honours he should get an APA with a top up. $~25 000 p.a.
