Optometry is a tightly regulated profession, hence better conditions and way better money than most commerce grads. Nearly anyone can do a commerce job without a professional qualification bar accounting or actuarial (which is not offered at USYD).

Yeh im looking to go back to my firm in 09/10 summer but would like to do a stint overseas in Europe if possible. Only time will tell. Otherwise ill gladly intern here again. Only problem is the firm is now recruiting people with 2.5yrs experience for grad roles :(

Mine has been awesome, have learnt a crapload and have developed personally - having to live away from home. Have been involved in asset estimations worth US$800 billion dollars and am now going away for an all expenses paid conference for 3 days. Only bad thing is living out of a suitcase.

There are entry requirements, i.e. you should have done ext 2 maths or done very well in ext 1. Personally I would take advanced if you are a hard worker, as it pays off in your marks. Thanks, ill just wait 2 weeks :)

You can enrol in advanced streams if you are doing a standard i.e. normal level degree. On another note regarding preenrollment... Is there a way to see which subjects you have enrolled for? As I have enrolled for 9 subjects this year, but I can not confirm this, as there is no tab on...

Work hard play hard. Im in a different industry but I work similar hours - 100/week and I have a good social life (better than what I did have at uni).

Should be fine. But bad timing, but can't be helped. Why dont you work in your preferred industry for a bit then do your masters of commerce and then work for an ibank analysing that sector?

Yeh, I work 6-6 normally, sometimes more, sometimes get to knock off at 5:20ish when its quiet like now. Then I do about 1-2 hours of work a night when I go back to my room. Gotta love waking up at 4:45. Generally means 9pm bedtime otherwise I fall asleep at my desk.
